I don’t even understand this point. Nelson was made available after they started losing more games & fired Ballard. Well before the trade with Philly. The 2nd for Philly is in 2028 v. the 3rd in 2027. And they needed a center lol. Plus Jurgens is signed for longer and cheaper.

I’m an EDC defender but giving up a 2nd and a 5th for Cam Jurgens and seeing Nelson go for a 3rd and a 5th is a horrible and frankly indefensible look

The Seahawks are getting Nelson for 11 weeks (unless they re-sign him). I think people are totally overlooking the reality of his expiring contract. This isn't the NBA. My only criticism would be they could have waited longer, but whatever.

Nelson is due ~$10M for the balance of the yr. Ravens only have ~$1.2M in Cap space, so they would have had to restructure a deal or two or asked the Colts to eat some salary (which then have probably cost a 2nd). Seattle had enough Cap space to make the deal w/o Colts eating $.

Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency. But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.

What I tweeted during the game btw. Now everyone is saying Jurgens played well. I didn’t think the OL played horrendously, exactly. They were better in pass pro than but still had the penalties & couldn’t run block. Also, no Vega matters. Get him back to pair w/ Cam. #Ravens

I’m quite confident that once they can clear the injury hurdle, this will be a good group. Simpson is your weak link & a penalty machine. But nothing you can do to avoid playing him at this point.
