We need the Daniel Dale(s) of chatGPT outputs. Like, immediately. As in, alarm bells should be going off.
Why? You can depend on gpt outputs for pattern finding, but you absolutely cannot depend on it to output facts.
Kids are using it to research papers. Analysts are using it to gather data and populate tables. Businesses are using it to offer financial advice.
And the outputs look human, authoritative, and correct.
But unless someone is fact checking every line of output…

Heard @adriennemaree talking about #emergentstrategy on @onbeing, so I checked out esii.org finally. I would just like to underline that their elements and principles should really be true for every area of life, work, systems. esii.org/about/ So good.
@skratta guessing you already know about it/them/her but if not, seems like the kind of thing you'd be into or like to amplify

I can’t begin to put into words my feelings about the recent barbaric decision to overturn Roe vs Wade in the Dystopian States of America. This is Debbie Reynolds speaking about her own experience in the 60’s… it’s hard to listen to but this is what’s going to happen again.

I am devasted today. Devastated and enraged. (And the overturning of Roe v Wade in the US is only the tip of the iceberg regarding human rights.)
It’s not simply about abortion: this begets the criminalization of pregnancy, and that’s not hyperbole. newyorker.com/magazine/2022/…

Alito’s draft opinion repealing Roe is a sweeping blueprint not just for invalidating abortion rights, but any rights that contradict conservative ideological preferences. And in classic Alito fashion, he lied what he was doing while he was doing it theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv…
If you haven’t already seen Everything Everywhere All At Once, do yourself a favor. No, really. Go see it. In a theater, full of other humans.
I needed this, thanks @peterhemminger. I know a few of you who need it too.
