We’re hiring a writer at alphaXiv! (part-time or full-time)
Write approachable, human-written guides on topics like LLM inference and interpretability that will be read by many!
An interest in research is more important than an extensive background: forms.gle/f2qP8YfiRCctovzG7

Replying to @agrover112 @ShashwatGoel7
We actually have 64 open positions at the moment at various startups in Tue ... let me see if I can find a summary somewhere.

Yep: increasing formal verification of all code will be essential.
What Sam is not saying yet is: There is a solution here which is to use coding agents to replace all the bad code (i.e. essentially all code) with code that is formally verified to have safety properties.
This is a huge and difficult undertaking yet the same non-AGI-yet-superpowerful AI tech that is doing all the hacking is capable to enable this.
If government wants to do something valuable to smooth the path to the Singularity, one helpful step would be to allocate a trillion dollars (oh maybe just try $500B for starters?) to open-source communities to roll out software for automatically replacing badly buggy code (again almost all code) w appropriately formally verifiable code...
Gov't can find trillions of $$ to bail out "too big to fail" companies in crisis -- it did it for the banks in 2008 and will do it for Big Tech if the circular financing causes a tech-industry financial collapse in late 2027/2028 ... it can find massive $$ for wars... but finding hundreds of billions of $$ to end world hunger or give the world a solid software foundation is somehow utterly infeasible...
We are not even to the stage of human-level AGI yet but we are already meeting fascinatingly and disturbingly unprecedented situations as modern AI tech meets legacy society and legacy IT systems. It's just going to get crazier, before ultimately -- if all goes well -- getting gloriously abundant for all... We need some "out of the box" thinking across all levels of society to get through this transitional phase with a modicum of grace amidst all the chaos...

Another vulnerability few are talking about: I found my Claude Code exposing personal data in http headers because the sites it curled politely asked agents to identify their users 😊
Epistemic cybersecurity is the hot new category for 2027.

We're donating Agent Skills to the Agentic AI Foundation (@AgenticAIFdn), the same foundation we donated MCP to.
Since December 2025, 70+ agent platforms have integrated the standard, including ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and VS Code.
Here's what that means for you:

if your paper title contains a question, then a minimum requirement is for the paper to try and meaningfully answer the question.
if your main claim is producing an artifact with property X, a minimum is to discuss how X was achieved, and to verify its quality.

How we are approaching AI at openRxiv - new blog post prompted by growing adoption by researchers, submission patterns, and questions from the community. 1/n
This is important to realize. Today it is 100 to 1000 times cheaper to use classic deterministic document conversion tools compared to an agentic harness.
Fun fact: this is a deterministic and reproducible conversion. Creating a process to faithfully recreate the contents of a 300+ page PDF like this is kind of a nightmare.
It took many millions of tokens from a collection of agents led by Fable 5 running a loop of writing/improving conversion code then verifying the output against images of the source PDF.
The process ended up generating over 4k lines of Python.

We're working on a new math font. It's a bit controversial, because people are used to classic serif math fonts. Ours is sans-serif, built from the monospace fonts in code editors

Many people just starting out on Lean formalization have enjoyed playing the Natural Numbers Game. Now Autumn Mapes has produced Visual Lean, isomorphic to the original but playable in a lovely intuitive way with clicking and dragging rather than typing.
