This year's #NationalDoctorsDay means more than ever. I'm proud to be a doctor and thankful for all my colleagues who worked the front lines of #COVID19 over the past year. We signed up for this, but it's been inspiring to witness my colleagues go above & beyond the call of duty

When those on the frontlines of this pandemic have to beg for all of us to wear masks. Just do it.
Please... help us help you. I'm on hospital duty this month; it remains grievously clear this pandemic is far from over. Please do your part. #MaskUp.

This.
We’re still wearing our masks. Please help us by wearing yours. #MaskUp
My hospital is now requiring eye protection for all patient encounters in the ER. I don’t 100% know the science on this. But here’s what I do know. I’m *not* going to moan about it. I’m going to do it! Cuz I’m a grownup and if there’s a chance it helps, I’m all in.

Today #telemedicine doctors are using their best judgement when it comes to giving a proper diagnosis- without physically taking the #vitals of #patients. What if your doc could conduct a #physicalexam in a virtual world? MedWand puts the 'medicine' in telemedicine.

Wow. The Dr. Fauci of Germany (the virologist Christian Drosten) has a podcast called 'Das Coronavirus' where he discusses complex topics around Covid-19 and millions of people tune in. It's the #1 podcast. Locals are telling me this helped a lot with the response.

When did taking care of others and our fellow humans become the devil in our country? I’m aghast and wonder where our lack of humanity has gone.

A few weeks ago, I made a post about the importance of mask wearing, and I had to put my account on lockdown overnight because of the number of people attacking me.

This graph is amazing. It shows that measuring #SARSCoV2 levels in municipal sewage almost perfectly predicts forthcoming #COVID19 cases with a full week's notice (R=0.994). It's one of several discoveries in this new study from @Yale: medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…. C-19 is #InThePoop

Breaking data: Today we released a new study of 53K Americans revealing that use of proton pump inhibitors (eg. Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium) is associated w/ a 2-4x risk of #COVID19. In this thread I explain why we did this study, what we found, what it may mean, & key limitations

Wishing you a happy & healthy #FourthofJuly! Please wear a mask if you’re out in public. I used to wear one all the time. It saved my life. But with Covid-19 you’ll also protect the lives of others. What better way to celebrate the holiday than by protecting your fellow Americans

After 19 years, I’ve left Stanford. The accumulated gender discrimination and harassment had taken their toll. I shared my story with @kate_selig and @StanfordDaily because I think it is important and hope it will empower others to speak up. THREAD 1/ stanforddaily.com/2020/06/10…

Systemic racism, inequality, and institutionalized violence are healthcare issues—and more importantly, matters of humanity. Silence and inaction in the face of injustice is simply not an option. It’s past time to get to work.
