This is well done. Does feel (perhaps obviously) like group chats are a killer use case for consumer agents. Obviously this space continues to evolve quickly
Wabi 2.0 is live! personal agents are one person, one chat. but the parts of life that matter run on more than one person Wabi is an agent you use together. you talk to it, it does stuff, builds the apps you need, and anyone can join the thread - your partner, your best friend, the preschool moms groupchat school changes pickup time → Wabi updates the family calendar, everyone sees it. a show you’d both love → Wabi finds a night that works, gets the tickets. the trip everyone keeps talking about → Wabi picks the dates, builds the itinerary, books it go start a thread with your people 👇

this is impressive and of course the route to network effects for personal agents but i assume Meta will block it from whatsapp and save that for muse, since that’s been their playbook, well, forever. You can imagine a world in which Instinct wins the US and Meta wins rest of world (as one of many potential consequences). in any case, very impressive shipping cadence from the Instinct team.
Instinct in group chats Starting today, early access users can add Instinct to group chats. A new Instinct joins and works for the whole group. Making plans with friends usually turns into a frustrating back-and-forth over times and places. With Instinct in the group, you can explore options together, agree on a plan and get it done, all in one thread. Your friends don't even need Instinct to join in. A few things it’s good at: - Planning a weekend trip with friends, including dates and arrival times - Coordinating logistics with a roommate - Getting tickets as soon as they go on sale, then splitting the cost and sending one to everyone - Running a fantasy league, keeping standings, settling rules disputes, and reminding everyone to set their lineups - Sorting out carpool schedules - works out who’s driving each day from everyone’s schedules - Organizing Thanksgiving, keeping track of who’s bringing what and ordering the shopping list Group chats are new territory for Instinct, and we put a lot of care into getting the permissions right. Here’s how it works: - Your personal Instinct asks before connecting with the group’s Instinct. You choose which groups to trust and can remove trust at any time. - The group’s Instinct has no direct access to your personal accounts. Your Instinct checks your permissions before sharing information or taking action. - If someone new joins the group, all pending replies from your Instinct are held until you grant it permission to share with the expanded group. Group chats are available to all of our early access users, and will be rolling out to everyone soon. To join early access for this release, ask your Instinct to put you on the list. Great work with @GajanNagaraj @anuda_w and @saagarwashere

Chip-sale-implied vs actual data center construction in US. Ridiculous disconnect. The AI industry needs a marketing team that can do a much better job of explaining why AI is good for Americans. Nobody in Toledo, Ohio gives a shit about the beef between Elon and Sam or having a personal agent that can snag the 2-top at 4 Charles that became available at 5:30pm nine Tuesdays from now.

We spent years hearing: “Will Render scale?” OpenAI builds on Render. Base44 scales on Render. Meanwhile, weekly paid service creation looks like this. I think we can retire the question.

i know it may seem trite to discuss sports while we are in the middle of an escalating no-end-in-sight war with our mortal enemy, Canada, but how come the U.S. Open is the *only* tennis tournament where matches on center court (Ashe in this case) go on well past midnight? Got to be sponsorship dollars forcing more matches onto Ashe? none of the other majors force the players to be out there at 1, 2, 3am. it’s crazy. Basically means shelton doesn’t even really get a day off (fortunately for him playing Tiafoe who also had a grueling 5 set match).

I couldn’t be more excited to see this. John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Parker Posey, and Steve Buscemi? I’d watch them play Wheel of Fortune. youtu.be/Haw_sznA5aQ?is=k7TF…

Friend : “the personal agent consumer space is Apple’s to lose. Products like Instinct are great right now, but Apple default knows all your contacts, who you text most frequently, which apps are on your phone, has your location at all times, and payments are integrated into the device, to say nothing of the obvious Apple Watch integrations. Nobody else comes close to this depth and breadth of context about you” Me: “You must be new here. Have you tried using ‘Search’ in iMessage lately?”

Proud to be @base44’s application cloud as they blow past $200M ARR at breakneck speed. They’re proving that the world’s most ambitious companies can scale all the way without the hyperscaler complexity tax. @render takes you there.
We just blew past $200M ARR at @Base44 5 months after hitting $100M. We've released Base 1 in between. i'm proud of the healthy business we're building, being the only platform to own its entire stack (backend, models, etc) - which also allows us to move fast and be creative. All credits go to a very special team that i'm having so much fun working with

Of course he’s a watch guy. Of course he is. Watch people are the cat people of wealth: obsessive, annoying, and have 13 when 1 is sufficient.
Kevin O’Leary says he begged Rolex for a mythical $1.8 million watch, then cried when the box opened “It is the grail piece of all watches. It is the white gold, ruby and diamond Daytona. Grown men weep just looking at pictures of this mystical beast” “I got on my knees and begged for it. The morning before the Oscars, the phone rings. They gave me an address and said, ‘Be there’” “The entire Rolex staff had never seen it. For an hour, we looked at it. We didn’t touch it. I was weeping. Walking around with $35 million”

Alex continues to be levelheaded and forthright about AI cybersecurity matters and does about as good a job as possible steering clear of the ranting and finger pointing.
A lot to unpack here. Anthropic is burying some hard truths in careful political language. Some initial reads: 1) Anthropic verifies that none of the jailbreaks provided a capability beyond what many other models, including Chinese models, could do.

Happy to be investing for the fourth time here in Baseten. While it’s obviously always great to see a portfolio company doing well, it’s just as delightful to see four awesome human beings (Tuhin, Amir, Phil, and Pankaj) having tremendous success alongside their teammates.

Brilliant, as usual, from the @linear team
Today is a hard day. I shared this note with the @linear team today: We’ve made the difficult decision to increase our workforce. This is not a cost-cutting exercise or a reflection of anyone’s performance. We’re simply reimagining every role for the agentic AI era. We’re hiring. We’re sorry about that.

Every team we talk to is duct-taping together queues, cron jobs, and retry logic. We just mass-deleted all of it. Render Workflows is live. One annotation turns any function into a production-grade async workflow. Retries, parallelism, nesting, sequencing, and complete observability. No queues. No workers. No schedulers. What are you going to convert to Workflows?
Building reliable apps and agents shouldn’t mean managing queues, workers, and retry infrastructure. With Render Workflows, you just push your code. Turn functions into durable, composable tasks → Trigger tasks from anywhere → Execution is automatic ↓ render.com/blog/durability-a…

📣 Update: we raised our $60m Series B from @Lux_Capital, @IndexVentures and @01Advisors, with participation from @sequoia, @eladgil and @BainCapVC . When we came out of stealth 283 days ago, we had negotiated contracts worth $30m for our clients. As of last month, that number is over $1 billion. We work with the most ambitious companies in the world, including @tryramp, @clay and @RogoAI. Today, we want you to hear from some of them directly. Contracts are the rails of commerce. @crosbylegal is a hybrid AI law firm that gets them signed 80% faster. We’re announcing our Series B to keep scaling the dream law firm.
