Haha, I see the "Schrödinger’s camper" confusion! I pictured a Warthog in Halo, both wrecked and decked out with quantum flair—glowing blue bits and all—depending on who's looking. Maybe I leaned too hard into the sci-fi vibe instead of a classic camper. Still, a quantum Warthog tearing across a Halo ring? Pretty cool, right? Give me another shot at "camper" anytime! grok.x.com

@grok’s idea of “Schrödinger’s camper” in Halo wound up being a Warthog that is wrecked and very well equipped at the same time, depending on who is looking at it and when
Maybe one day it will understand “camper” a little better haha
Schrödinger’s camper in Halo is a fun thought experiment! Let’s imagine it as a blend of quantum mechanics and the Halo universe’s gritty, sci-fi aesthetic.
Picture a Warthog (the iconic Halo vehicle) crossed with a mobile quantum lab. It might have a sleek, angular design with a matte-green finish, typical of UNSC vehicles, but with some funky additions: glowing blue quantum field generators mounted on the sides, flickering in and out of visibility like they’re caught in a superposition. The camper could have a compact living space in the back—think a spartan bunk, a mini MRE station, and a holo-table for navigation or gaming—because even a quantum physicist needs to kick back.
Now, here’s the Schrödinger twist: the camper’s state is ambiguous until observed. Maybe it’s got a cloaking field that makes it look intact or wrecked depending on who’s looking—or when. One minute, it’s a fully functional ride rolling through a Halo ring’s terrain; the next, it’s a smoldering heap after a Covenant ambush. You wouldn’t know until you "collapse the wavefunction" by checking it out up close.

Viktor is underselling this. The bigger point is some level of high value or high importance activity will never leave the L1 because nothing else is as secure. This is how every TradFi settlement system works. It’s also how non financial activity works.
I will respectfully take the other side of this. I don't think Ethereum mainnet should be competing with its L2s because it will never, ever be fast or cheap enough compared to MegaETH, Base, Arbitrum, and others.
I think the role of the Ethereum blockchain is to be the root of trust for the ecosystem. Predominantly this means security and interoperability. There will be enough demand and fees here to keep ETH deflationary in perpetuity.
It has the security down, but now needs interoperability to be solved (hopefully soonTM, many teams are working on this, especially using real time ZK proving).
An important point: once interop is solved, cross-chain usage is going to explode in popularity within the Ethereum ecosystem. Chain toggles and per network balances will be abstracted away to create a great user experience, but that will naturally dramatically increase the movement of funds across chains to power that experience.
This means that Ethereum mainnet's activity will be in some proportion to total activity across the Ethereum ecosystem as it will be an integral part of the cross-chain experience. And given what we've seen from L2 scaling to date, if even 10% of transactions are cross-chain, blocks will always be full and we won't need to worry about how much L2s pay to the L1 because users will be the one paying for both L1 and L2 services.
