For YEARS I was quite literally obsessed with everything "organic" If it had organic on the label, I would buy it! Until, some years ago, I found out what the word meant. ORGANIC is a terrific indicator of how a product was "farmed" with NO dangerous pesticides, & kind to the environment, which is absolutely great! BUT, the label "Organic" is NOT an indicator of quality or even freshness. & as I have discovered with the recent flour scandal, it is also NOT a guarantee that a finished, processed food product, will not contain chemicals. Wheat can be organic But if, when it is milled for flour & that flour is destined for industrial use in the Big Food factories, it will have conditioners & other chemicals added. But it can still say "Organic Wheat" on the label, because it is. This became apparent during the BOVAER debacle, too. I know this is likely to upset some people, who are, like I was, true devotee's of "Organic".. It upset me too, when I found out, so I am very sorry, if this information has. My aim is to put true information about our supermarket food, out for ALL, so you can decide for yourselves, where your money goes. What anyone chooses to do with that information is entirely up to them. I KNOW most of this news is NOT palatable. But neither is most of the crap that they sell to us, in the Big, controlled, supermarkets.
