Dave Roberts says he doesn’t care when his players or staff show up to the facility as long as they get their work done and are ready to play because showing up early doesn’t mean you’re actually preparing “The last one to show up in the clubhouse? Teoscar. But the dude shows up every day ready to play. Sometimes it’s the eyewash that people will show at noon because they’re there and they’re on their phones.” “They’re not getting any better. They’re not working. If you’re just going to sit on your phone in front of your locker, stay your ass at home. Teo gets that. He’s like, ‘When I show up, I’m ready to work.’” “That speaks to the anxiety where sometimes people want it so bad, they try so hard—and that’s an impediment.” “Teo’s found that sweet spot. He knows what it takes him mentally to get ready.”
