Updated with post Martinsville points Congrats NASCAR, you created a championship format where the top three best drivers cannot compete for a championship You have thrown all legitimacy out the window in the name of entertainment I hope you burn so we can rebuild you better.

Whatever your feelings about the Trump shooting, it’s worth pointing out that if a Secret Service team can’t protect a presidential candidate, maybe expecting Mrs. Krabappel to protect her 4th grade students from an active shooter is unrealistic.

I remember going into my first year of teaching thinking I was going to use a bunch of cute classroom management tricks. I’m not 4 yrs in and although those tricks are helpful, I’ve learned the most important & effective classroom management strategy is RELATIONSHIPS.

Parents send us the best kids they have -- the ones they love the most. When we’re mindful of that… we can be a little more patient, a little more tender, and a little more compassionate.

Three of the NASCAR-owned tracks — Daytona, Darlington and Kansas — just announced they will have fully opened grandstands for their race weekends this summer and fall. No more restrictions on number of fans allowed to attend.

Tell me you’re a low budget NASCAR driver without telling me you’re a low budget NASCAR driver.. I’ll start😂 No, all joking aside this is amazing! Being that it is throwback weekend at Darlington, even with all the big haulers we have the team decided to throw it on the flatbed

It’s odd that In the US we spend millions to implement research based practices. BUT, we ignore the extensive research that shows how play, recess, & physical activity, can improve focus, self regulation, and on task behavior, as well as interpersonal skills & mental health.

In education, we have a false belief that if we seek help we’re incapable or not qualified. Everyone should seek mentoring &/or advice from superintendent to the novice teacher. This isn't weakness; this is seeking to be our best! Teaching is hard enough w/o expecting perfection.

Recess, physical activity, and playtime do more for SEL than any packaged program. In fact, leaving these out of the educational process is borderline child abuse. Children NEED to move, socialize, and play to learn most effectively.

A little self care for this admin on this gorgeous Sunday. ❤️ Woke up at our beach place, treadmill, church, family lunch and then a walk around the lake. Cup empty? What do you do to refill it?...#fillingmycup – at North Carolina, USA

Good advice, but as admin I am also asking, “What does this teacher need from me?” – at North Carolina, USA
When teachers complained to Ted Sizer about a kid, he’d gently reframe by asking “What does this student need from you?”
