Bail Reform = Crime Wave?
Most comprehensive study yet of rearrests in NYC shows Bail Reform actually reduced the likelihood that someone would get arrested again. So, going home was safer than sitting at Rikers.

A new study by @DrAlexPiquero @ktwolff11 @therealdrbags shows how fees imposed on kids increase recidivism & trap families in debt.
Of the $3.3 million assessed in 2021, only 13% was collected. Yet the financial & emotional costs to families are enormous.

New year, new project! @ShelleyJ_UNCC & I w/Mark Cohen will be evaluating the Organizational Coaching Model (#OCM) & its impact on revocations. Lucky to be working w Brian Lovins @bkwinstin who will implement the model in 3 sites & Lori Brusman-Lovins who will monitor fidelity.
Thankful to @OJPNIJ for funding this 5-yr project which will shift the focus of community supervision to coaching rather than refereeing. Read more about the project here: inside.charlotte.edu/news-fe…
