As people make claims about where broadband is available, it's important to take stock of what's IN THEORY available and what's ACTUALLY available. These are 2 different things that some care little to distinguish - or purposefully don't want to distinguish. 1/
Revisiting this post---Happy International #lefthandedday
It's International #LeftHandersDay! I enjoy being a lefty, but not sure I qualify after reading the "facts" below.
#1 Sounds about right
#2 Definitely not me
#3 Nope, not my style
#4 Being a lefty couldn't overcome my other athletic shortcomings
#5 Very questionable in my case

We're excited to play a role in keeping South Dakota's ag producers connected. Great picture and gorgeous view!
Grabbed coffee & checked cows this morning. Thanks to @GoldenWestCoop & new fiber install - didn’t even put boots on. #southdakota
South Dakota PROUD!
College football’s hottest coach is from a state, South Dakota, that doesn’t have major-college football. What Washington’s Kalen DeBoer does have is a humble approach, a well-paid staff—and a 10-0 record. wsj.com/sports/football/wash… via @WSJ

Enjoyed meeting with South Dakota telecommunications leaders for a discussion on ways to strengthen rural internet service access across the state.

Good to have leaders from a few of South Dakota’s rural telecommunications companies in the office today. The services they provide are crucial to residents of rural SD, including rural broadband. Grateful for the work they do.

Joined members of Clean Fuels Alliance America to discuss biofuels and the critical role they play as a market opportunity for South Dakota farmers.
A great visit this morning with @RepDustyJohnson in Wall, SD. Appreciate the opportunity for my coworkers & I to provide an update on @GoldenWestCoop fiber optic broadband activities across South Dakota.
Great to have @BrendanCarrFCC and @SenJohnThune visit @GoldenWestCoop fiber broadband project near Colton,SD and see firsthand the importance of the FCC’s USF high-cost program in deploying and sustaining high quality broadband in rural areas.
Colton, South Dakota (pop. 738) sits in a rural part of Minnehaha County and had been stuck on dial up and DSL.
Thanks to a 2018 FCC initiative, Denny and his crew have been trenching in miles of high-speed fiber.
Good to visit with @SenJohnThune today. #CarrTrip
I appreciate @govkristinoem appointing me to the South Dakota Board of Technical Education. I have always been a great admirer of South Dakota's technical colleges and the important role of each college for students and employers.

Great idea! Since a 30+ year old law (‘92 Cable Act) requires MVPD’s to include broadcast channels in all programming packages, it makes sense to provide consumers transparency into what they pay for each of these channels.
You know what transparency would make a real difference? Letting consumers see how much each local broadcast station represents of their cable bill and how many other stations the content owners make MVPDs carry to carry the “good” ones. nexttv.com/news/fcc-proposes…
Thoroughly depressing to be stuck at home during a winter storm and also have the forecast talk about the NEXT storm in a few days….which is forecasted to be worse
35+ years since I have been in this building. Great to be back and watch SDSU/USD rivalry. #GoJacks ! 🐰🐰🐰
Great Picture! Also a great example of how broadband+ technology in rural areas plays an important role in helping ag operations be more efficient and hopefully more successful. ps...beautiful countryside and great looking cattle--wish I was there.
I'm in the rural-ist of rural #southdakota . Thanks to @GoldenWestCoop I have an eye in the sky 24/7. Quade S. is A++
I appreciate the kind introduction by @SenJohnThune at Tuesday's Senate Ag Committee hearing and the opportunity to discuss ways that @GoldenWestCoop & @NTCAconnect members are working to improve rural consumer's access to high-quality fiber optic broadband service
Thank you @RepDustyJohnson for your speech on the House floor honoring four of my friends/colleagues we have lost this year. Well said and a fitting tribute to each of them.

Hard for me to put into words what this loss means. Rod was so many things: great colleague & business partner, great friend whose 1st question was always about my kids, the best example of anyone I know of what's great in small-town rural America.
