BREAKING: Nearly 10,000 Christians have been slaughtered by Islamists across Africa since the start of 2026 alone. Another 4,000 kidnapped. More than 1,000 churches attacked. Where is the global outrage?

The city of Dan, predating the patriarch Abraham by centuries, was probably seen by him on his journey to the Promised Land. During the Canaanite era it was known as Laish (Judges 18). I can't believe I've never seen it even though I've been to Dan (with two other Dans - friends of mine). This is a bucket list item now.

Over 200,000 people killed in Africa, 72% in Nigeria by Islamists. Why are we silent? Where is the rage?

Incredible find! A Jewish person living in Egypt around 475 BCE wrote about Passover on a piece of pottery. The inscription, written in Imperial Aramaic, is now housed in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. It was discovered on the island of Elephantine in Egypt, home to a Jewish community during the Persian period. In paraphrase, the letter conveys a message along these lines: “To Hoshaya. Greetings! Take care of the children until Ahutab arrives. If the flour has already been ground, prepare a small amount of dough until their mother returns. Let me know when you will celebrate Passover, and tell me how the baby is doing.” Although brief, this inscription contains one of the oldest surviving non-biblical references to the festival of Passover, demonstrating that Jews were celebrating it nearly 2,500 years ago. Consider the historical context. It was written approximately 700 years after the Exodus from Egypt (according to the traditional biblical chronology), about 110 years after the destruction of the First Temple, and roughly 60 years after the return to Zion from the Babylonian exile. A cynical slap in the face of America and all who love freedom and western values. An election on the anniversary of September 11, if it happens, is a sick play.
BREAKING: Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas announces that he’s postponing the parliamentary elections which were to take place on November 28th 2026 to September 11 2027. They were to be first parliamentary elections since Hamas won the elections in 2006. 90-year-old Mahmoud Abbas was elected president in 2005 and hasn’t held any presidential elections since.

On this day in September 8, 1919, 127,000 Jews murdered in the Ukraine only merits a page 6 note in the @nytimes. h/t @CptAllenHistory.

On September 6 and 7, 1955, a pogrom was carried out against the Greek community of Constantinople. Armenians, Assyrians, and other non-Muslims were targeted too. Homes and businesses were looted and burned. Churches and cemeteries were desecrated. People were beaten, injured, and killed. Turkish writer Aziz Nesin later wrote that priests were among those forcibly circumcised during the violence. An Armenian priest is reported to have died as a result. Communities that had lived in that city for centuries were broken in two nights. We remember 🕯️

We are being betrayed by Big Tech!
Google Books is becoming a desert. Its regress is real: the knowledge we were assured was both safely stored and freely available, which led libraries and schools to get rid of their books, has retreated into the shadows. The internet of 2026 knows less than the internet of 2010.

I now feel justified in having gone OTT and downloaded any book I cited or had a real interest in. I've been watching as that function becomes less and less available.
