Minister McCarthy supported an independent investigation — because that’s what Kumanjayi White’s family asked for. Now the NT Police are resisting, and the Minister has gone quiet. We need leadership, not silence. Minister McCarthy needs to step up. nit.com.au/02-06-2025/18305/…

Australians didn’t vote for more gas exports. They voted for climate action, cost-of-living relief, and a future our kids can look forward to. Approving the North West Shelf Extension is the opposite. johnmenadue.com/post/2025/06…

If any leader takes us to a war decided on by Trump this country will see the biggest anti-war movement in its history. And our Prime Minister must keep saying we will decide what we spend on defence.

So now the US demands we spend 3.5% of GDP to be part of the US military. Perhaps we should start charging the Trump gang for the multiple US bases we host here, compromising our sovereignty and making us a target. abc.net.au/news/2025-06-02/u…

Stay safe, my friends. I am painfully aware of the risks you are taking on behalf of all of us—of Humanity. Diplomats & politicians around the world: The Flotilla Giants are taking the heavy lift. PLEASE make sure they are protected, will you? This is the least you can do.
Greta Thunberg and Liam Cunningham are risking everything for humanity’s sake.

Albo said “we follow our own path” on Palestine, what is that path? The cabinet should meet , determine a path that acknowledges the genocide, starvation and barbarism foisted on innocent civilians by the Israeli govt and advise the nation what it will do in response. It’s time!

A ten-year plan ...🏘️ In order to truly diversify the housing sector, Tom Chance argues, the Government needs to remove barriers in the planning system, and to incentivise funding of and partnership with community-led organisations... >>> cstu.io/3af907 ~ @LabourHousing

This is great news. Ed Husic announces financial support for state govts to grow modular housing in Australia. Hi tech, well designed modular homes reduce running costs for heating and cooling, cost less are built quickly. This is the future of home building. Well done Ed!

Richard Marles claims our relationship with the US is “strong and deep”. Why then is Trump attacking our industries communities and jobs? Labor against War believes we should withdraw from AUKUS and develop effective alternatives that protect our sovereignty and independence

Dear @MarkDreyfusKCMP First Law Officer of the Commonwealth In the District Court of South Australia this morning, the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions discontinued five alleged indictable offences (counts 20 to 24 inclusive) that cannot possibly proceed to trial (see previous post). As the remaining three alleged offences of a similar nature (counts 17 to 19 inclusive) were not discontinued, does this mean I will have to wait another 28 months for resolution of these? Doesn’t the Commonwealth have an obligation under Model Litigant Rules to act as an upstanding role model to the community in Australia’s judicial system? Yours faithfully awaiting an honest outcome Richard D Boyle @PatsKarvelas @Adele_Ferguson #Auspol #Auslaw @ABCNews #uapX Arrtice via @DomGiannini__ Link: aapnews.aap.com.au/news/five…
Dear @MarkDreyfusKCMP, First Law Officer of the Commonwealth I am in the District Court of South Australia this morning for a call-over hearing at 9:30 AM. I feel compelled to advise you publicly, and to inform the Australian Community, that the Commonwealth Prosecutor under your portfolio is not acting with integrity. During summation in the first public interest disclosure trial of its kind in October 2022, Counsel for the Commonwealth advised regarding courts 17 to 24—where I was alleged to have disclosed confidential taxpayer information to my lawyer at the time (Mr. Finlay) — agreed with the evidence that 'no such disclosure occurred'. The Commonwealth agreed that Mr. Finlay deliberately did not open the encrypted files out of an abundance of caution to protect the confidentiality of the information. After the initial shock of this statement to all present, her Honour Judge Kudelka retorted, somewhat ironically, 'Aren't you prosecuting Mr. Boyle in the criminal trial for disclosing confidential tax information?'. All parties, including the court, left the hearing that day with the full expectation that the Commonwealth would abandon these charges, considering they had scuttled their own case as they had argued the opposite of the alleged offense. After twenty-eight months, no such undertaking has been made by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP), and I remain charged with these offenses, which, as it stands, will go to trial on November 2 this year. I kindly inform you that I have withdrawn my instructions to negotiate a plea-deal with the Commonwealth. I cannot, in good conscience, continue negotiating with this department under your control while they behave in this manner. I will happily resume negotiations once the CDPP behaves in a manner that I believe the public would respect and condone. My conscience will not allow me to continue while the government behaves in this manner. I know you are committed to the fairness and integrity of the court process. Yours in faith in the judicial process, Richard D Boyle @PatsKarvelas @Adele_Ferguson #Auspol #Auslaw @ABCnews #uapX

More pro-Liberal spin at the ABC, who continually push the conservative line. Dutton is not “tantalizingly close to power” nor has he got the smell of “victory in his nostrils”. What are they putting up their noses at the @abcnews? #auspol

Tariffs directed at an ally. Our free trade agreement with the US torn up. Only action that will count: stop subsidising their shipyards and talk to the French about their lethal and affordable subs. We ain’t getting Virginia class anyway because US isn’t producing enough

Utterly horrific. What more will it take for the Albanese government to admit this is a genocide, and take action against the Israeli government accordingly? We’ve so far heard nothing from Penny Wong about this report. Where is she? theguardian.com/world/2025/m…
