Jal, NM tribute post: in 2009 I traveled with our Mesilla Valley Christian team to play Jal HS. The stadium was packed! Fans were loud. The announcer was excited. The whole town turned out!
Here's the crazy thing: their fans cheered for us, too! At halftime the elementary aged Jal school kids lined up as we walked to the locker room to high five our boys. I kept waiting for the taunts and jeers, but they never came.
It was neck and neck the whole game and we ended up losing. Zero boasting. Plenty of hugs and handshakes. As we boarded the bus, a church group showed up with hot food to feed our team.
Young Mr. Carreon is just staying true to how he was raised! Work hard. Play hard. Be kind and helpful. I'm sure Jal is proud of you @roger_carreon62 !

Carpenter ➡️ Ocampo
Always count on these two connecting for a long touchdown!
Carpenter drops in a nice ball and Ocampo showcases the breakaway speed!
