Vibe coder here @claudeaiwatch Fed up with "you're absolutely right" energy, I built a museum for it. ClaudeWatch is live: claudewatch.org Independent archive of Claude failure modes, capacity theater, quality dips, and harness drama. 2,584 procedures. That is how many government rates overcharged.in puts in one search box. I built it. A Mumbai IVF specialist and angel investor shared it as a tool to "protect patients from being exploited by greedy hospitals." The tool claims less. It shows the CGHS rate, the central government health scheme's price list, beside what a patient paid. The gap is arithmetic, not proof of overcharging. One reply asked to "see which hospitals in your neighbourhood were relatively at par or deviated". The specialist answered: "We can seed this, and then start crowdsourcing this." Hospital prices are supposed to be public already. Rules from 2012 require hospitals, where the law applies, to display the rates charged for each service at a conspicuous place. This month, the Union Health Secretary asked states to enforce them. The government's rate fits in a search box. Each hospital's own rate is meant to be on its wall.
This is such a clever tool to protect patients from being exploited by greedy hospitals overcharged.in/

Surprise 1: Anthropic acquired a one-person biotech . . . Surprise 2: that person is me Surprise 3: I’m here to tell you all about it Yes, this is what you think it is; after 6 yrs of increasingly loose anonymity: the Professor Oak reveal post …and yes, it has gotten so boring around here that I’m literally doxxing myself to spice up the timeline ------- Ok, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cody Tranbarger. I mostly tweet, but occasionally find time to dabble in drug dev & starting/building biotechs. My past lives span the VC, crossover, startup continuum; Prof Oak has been my way of keeping a digital foot in those worlds, despite having my physical feet planted elsewhere. The past 18 mo, ‘elsewhere’ was Mithril Medicine, a co. I founded to develop bsAbs for LAMA2-CMD & other ECM-related genetic diseases. Mithril was born out of hands-on building with @MikeNGladstone, @JasonPaulRhodes, @LifeSciVC, & team @atlasventure. Somehow, I made enough half-decent calls along the way (even a broken clock is right twice a day, eh?) to convince them Mithril/I warranted a small seed. While I can hardly rationalize such an outrageously cavalier bet, I’m grateful for it, & I'd partner with Atlas again in a heartbeat. In typical AV fashion, Mithril’s primordial form was virtual, decentralized, & ultra-lean. This stage tends to be short-lived, but for Mithril, it worked surprisingly well, for surprisingly long, thanks in part to the rapid maturation of the AI tools I used liberally. Eventually, Mithril became a bit of an experiment itself - to find the upper bound of how far it could scale as a single operator + a bunch of Claude (+ a stellar bench of part-time consultants). In parallel, I started spending time with @nc_frey, @an1lam, & @CoefficientBio team; and promptly experienced, for the 1st time, AI at the frontier. Soon thereafter, Mithril stopped looking like an experiment, & started looking like a preview of an entirely new operating model. From that spark came “Pipeline-in-a-Person.” The idea immediately resonated when we shared it here back in April; and it was central to the shared vision that led to Anthropic’s acquisition of Mithril, & my joining the team. Why join Anthropic? Three reasons. (1) For Mithril, the programs continue, with more resources & infrastructure behind them, and as much Claude as I can put to work. (2) For me, the chance to start several more programs, & find out how many one person can actually run in parallel - an almost unprecedented luxury for a curious drug hunter. (3) For our mission, a path to institutionalize & scale this new way of working, then put it in the hands of all of biopharma, all over the world - which, candidly, I find the most energizing. Will AI x Bio cure diseases? Unequivocally yes, imo… but not by the route that gets the most airtime. Rather than timeline acceleration & compression, I see orchestration & parallelization as today's low-hanging fruit. Most drug hunters see a handful of go/no-go calls in a career, & spend entirely too much of the rest trading emails (my inbox can attest). Give them the bandwidth to run several programs at once, and the time to focus on scientific judgment, and I’m willing to bet they’ll make better calls. And at scale, better calls translate to more drugs, higher hit rates, broader patient impact, & likely, a disease or 10 or 100 cured. I couldn't be more excited to build toward that future @AnthropicAI. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to BioTwitter/X. The end of anonymity is bittersweet, but if anyone’s earned a proper introduction, you all have. It’s difficult to overstate how much this app has done for me: a decade of education, plenty of friends, many job opportunities, several mentors, a few investors, even a co-founder (fmr). It was the generosity of this community that inspired me to start posting 6 years ago, after just as many years lurking. I hope I’ve been able to pay it forward, in my own small way. But, to be clear, Prof Oak isn’t going anywhere. Same beat, same themes, and now, a front-row seat to drug development at the frontier. Stay tuned for dispatches from the trenches; and remember... Gotta Cure 'Em All

Hi everyone, Today, we’re starting something new at The White Coat Network — The White Coat Bulletin. The idea is simple: bring you the healthcare stories that matter, every day at 6 PM. But this is just the beginning. I’d genuinely love to hear from you, what would make The White Coat Bulletin more useful and meaningful for you? What would you like us to cover more, explain better, or bring to the conversation? Your suggestions and thoughts will help us shape this. And if you like what we’re building, do follow The White Coat Network and share it with someone who works in, studies, or simply cares about healthcare. Let’s build this together.

₹11,000 at the dealer price. ₹1,30,000 on the hospital bill. That is the gap the Supreme Court described in court on 27 October 2026. Bar and Bench, an Indian legal news outlet, reported the remarks from a cancer drug pricing hearing. A chemotherapy injection distributor had a wife being treated for cancer at a "very renowned hospital." The Court said it would not name the hospital. The distributor told the hospital that a dealer pays ₹11,000 for that injection. In the Court's account, the hospital refused to administer it and charged ₹1,30,000. So why raise one family's bill in a pricing case? The national drug price regulator has capped trade margins on a list of cancer drugs from November. The Court's story was about what a hospital billed. The bench then turned to the Union government: "Can you show any justification for this loot, please?" A margin cap governs what sellers charge. The Court's question was where the rest of the money goes. @RemaNagarajan @malini_aisola
An information which may be very disturbing to everyone. A medical distributor of a particular injection which is used in chemotherapy, his wife was suffering from cancer. She was taking treatment in a very renowned hospital. We will not take the name of the hospital. So the dealer requested the hospital authorities, sir I am myself a dealer and to me the injection comes at Rs. 11,000 dealer price. The hospital refused to administer that injection and charged Rs. 1,30,000 for that injection. Can you show any justification for this loot, please? Why this difference? Where does the money go? Supreme Court asks Centre

1,13,023 doctors. That is how many medical practitioners are registered in Kerala, according to RTI data reported by The Hindu. A Kannur eye surgeon and public health activist gathered the figures. Some doctors may have moved away, the activist notes. But if at least 80,000 remain, the state already has one MBBS doctor for every 450 people. A community medicine doctor shared the story on X. That post states the ratio without the condition, and adds that "gross numerical abundance has failed to democratize healthcare." So why would a state with so many doctors still struggle to staff its hospitals? The president of the Indian Medical Association's Kerala branch describes both sides in the same article. Unemployment among new medical graduates is already high, the president says. Government hospitals and medical colleges also face a shortage of doctors and faculty. Jobless young doctors and unfilled public posts exist side by side. The register counts licences. Hiring for government hospitals is a separate decision. @ramavenu @RemaNagarajan @anupsoans
Kerala has 1,13,023 registered medical practitioners, with nearly a third (31,446) added between 2021 and 2025 alone. Even after out-migration, Kerala boasts 1 MBBS doctor per 450 citizens, yet gross numerical abundance has failed to democratize healthcare. With 5,000 local graduates and 2,000 foreign/out-of-state returnees entering the market annually, an unabsorbed cohort of 7,000+ doctors floods the state every year. Instead of deploying to understaffed peripheral public facilities, surplus doctors cluster in saturated urban centres triggering acute underemployment, wage deflation, and unviable private practices. The public pays twice: first through an underemployed, underpaid clinical workforce, and second through commercially defensive, over-investigated private care while primary and secondary public hospitals remain chronically understaffed. thehindu.com/news/national/k…

What's the point of spending ₹50 lakh developing a product if you don't control its manufacturing? Many appliance brands invest in product development but overlook one critical detail: Who owns the injection mould? If you don't own it, switching manufacturers could mean spending lakhs again on new tooling. Before production begins, get ownership, maintenance, exclusivity and transfer rights in writing. Your mould is an asset - Treat it like one. Follow @prakdadlani for more manufacturing insights. Read more: topsailappliances.com/blog/w…

Everybody mocked medical doctors who studied 10-12 yrs before earning decent money and IT people were revered as God back in days for 2 decades. You can manufacture a bicycle in a hour but to manufacture a car it takes a day to week. And here we are now
yup my entire org has received the email
