OH faculty should be encouraged to share our scholarship with our students & welcome thoughtful debate. This will all but kill that. Faculty hiring is selective, tenure is grueling. Want more conservative faculty? Encourage them to apply! And stick it out! ohiocapitaljournal.com/2023/…

I’m in consulting, industry, & academia. They’re all very different. OH and other lawmakers need to COME TALK TO FACULTY. We don’t want ANY students to feel left out or censored. We also don’t want underinformed thinking (including ours) to rule the day.

I am once again excited and humbled by my colleagues at Ohio State and our sustained commitment to our local communities. Congratulations Darryl, and @OSUPublicHealth, for leading the way in community-engaged research! cph.osu.edu/news/2023/02/new…

We (the Cognitive Systems Engineering Laboratory at Ohio State) are hiring! We are looking for a research engineer or research scientist focused primarily on supporting our Human-machine Teaming practice. We are going to hire VERY quickly. Interested? osu.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/OS…

Do we have a good shorthand for being sick (not just sniffles) but not having COVID? Let me propose "SNoC" (Sick Not COVID) or "SNOC". Or reply with a better one!

Example usage, "Ugh, not feeling well, really SNOC"

Or an alternative ... just "SNC" (Sick not COVID) ... pronounced "snick" ... example, "Did you get SNC from your travels?" Answer: "No ... it was COVID"

This is absolutely lovely: "Exceptions are not exceptional, and you and I can think of them even though nobody told us. It’s a fascinating capability, and it’s not so easy for A.I." One more example of how humans are the only sources of resilience. nytimes.com/interactive/2022…

This made me laugh. A green cartoon owl just designated me a Galactic Legend! Who am I to disagree with that? #Duolingo365

Bad news: your org has less adaptive capacity (AC) than you think it does, especially if you're not paying attention to it. Good news: we can pragmatically reveal and monitor your org's constraints and enablers of AC. We're doing it here for the DoD apps.dtic.mil/sti/pdfs/AD117…

Hey @OhioState! Just a little love letter from six longtime Buckeyes (which now include Buckeye alumni, parents, and faculty!) We had the absolute best time at the game, then on a walk through campus (which may have included rolling pumpkins!). Thank you!

I told you I was going to vote … and I did! You should too!

I’m getting up and voting tomorrow. Please tell me that you are, too! (Or already did). Our country really truly does depend on it!
