Parking workers in Chicago have been on strike since Tuesday, and they just reached a tentative agreement. Nearly 1,200 parking garage workers launched a walkout across roughly 200 Chicago-area locations after rejecting a proposal from the Chicago Parking Association.
Teamsters Local 727 said the deal would deliver the largest wage & benefit gains they ever achieved in the parking industry.
So basically, there was a 4-day walkout this week involving 1,000+ workers in control of an essential transportation hub in the 3rd largest city in the USA... and it led to a record-setting contract, but I haven't seen anyone talk about it.
This should be much bigger news.
