We didn’t make it to London last month but page 23 of yesterday’s @IrishTimes made two men happy this weekend.

Emily Cullen and @SecondCaptains will be hearing from my lawyers!
Hurling/Rugby: a Thread - spiritually different but structurally similar, 10 top tier teams compete in two separate competitions with the relative merits of each open to debate. A 20 yr erosion of the next tier of competitive teams since the advent of "professionalism" in the 90s

Let it flow @kenearlys Feels like a regressive return to the mid 80s never mind the 90s/00s.

Looking forward to the Rough Ride review @RichieSadlier @SecondCaptains . I’ve read it several times over the last 30 years and it may be No 1.When I see Paul enjoying cycling again with his daughter & friends it makes me happy. He gave a lot of himself to try and save the sport.
And the one and only Evelyn girl xxxx

The show must start with John Lennon “God”/ @kenearlys “I don’t believe…” mashup and then all @SecondCaptains listeners want to know is what Ken thought when the Grealish chance was halfway to the net. I’ve seen some things in my life but wow.

This hitherto unseen footage is bringing back strong memories of @KieransCollege a little later in the 1990s. That team captain for Maynooth looks very familiar.....

No response from @KieransCollege as of yet. Mr Kavanagh is undoubtedly speaking to his lawyers over image rights issues @Mahy77 @tod44 @cmcdkk @PKnoxer @ShaneKnox_

To play for Ireland means you’re in rarified air and in a small group of people with immense talent in a sporting sphere. But almost 20 years later this is where @RichieSadlier is the best we have ever seen/heard.Amazing openness from @KEITHEARLS87 Two men we can all be proud of
Keith Earls has been playing some of the best rugby of his career in his thirties. Behind closed doors, he's also been dealing with chronic pain, pain which brought him to the brink of retirement Today he joins @RichieSadlier in the Player's Chair secondcaptains.com/2021/11/3…

Another amazing programme today. Since the pandemic started the lads @SecondCaptains have taken it to another level with Where is George Gibney?, the excellence of the weekly shows and now this current series of Second Captains Saturday. This is form akin to Dylan in 65/66.
Tomorrow’s show is a very special one. We’re joined by Sports Journalist of the Year Johnny Watterson who will tell the story of his late brother Peter who was shot dead off the Falls Rd in 1973. Join us tomorrow at 1pm on @RTERadio1

He writes match reports on our weekly poker games which would be worthy of national column inches. This is superb from @lonesharkoy . Local rivalries are a foundation stone of all great sport the world over. Read this:

In a week of superb content @SecondCaptains this was outstanding. Make it free to air & challenge anyone who likes sport to listen & fail to conclude that they need to redirect €5 a month. An amazing interview about life, choices, & all of us just trying to do our best.
Marcus O'Sullivan has had, under the radar, one of the great Irish sporting careers: three World Indoor golds at 1500m, over 100 sub-4-minute miles, and a multi-decade coaching career at American powerhouse Villanova It's the Game That Changed My Life ☘️ secondcaptains.com/2021/05/1…

This might be the best piece of sports writing I've seen in 2020. I've watched many who are on this journey with Mayo and their joy and togetherness and the love of the sport and the few pints is what will endure.

“You have some tough competition against @marktigheST at the @iapf_info Conference” I dare say I do! Halfway through THE manual on poor corporate governance and also halfway through writing my own speech. Time for more coffee ✅

An excellent event this afternoon with some insights for us all to take away. Maintaining the strength of our teams is more important than ever in a remote working environment #LeadersLounge

Has % of draws fallen off a cliff since professional football turned into 5-a-side? @jonawils @kenearlys @MiguelDelaney someone may have researched this...

I shouldn't have put this on in the car on the way to the créche this morning. Maybe the most important stuff @younghorgan and the team have ever done. Heroes emerge every week but @bercarley @trickearney @OTooleGary display the best of us all.

Thanks for posting Laura, good to see AE pushing forward and interesting that indexation of State Pensions is on the 2020 legislative agenda. IORP II to be transposed "as soon as possible".

In a break from Tweeting about Italia '90, my thoughts are on pensions this coming week. With a new government now in place, a digital acceleration as a result of Covid19 and the Pensions Authority flexing their muscles, what does this mean for Trustees? irishlifecorporatebusiness.i…
Turned on @NewstalkFM and thought “I knew she had her own business but @DervalORourke is very knowledgeable on international tax legislation and fiscal matters generally”. Voice twin @colettebrowne
