Big: Kris Kobach, the Kansas attorney general, one of the country’s most notorious far-right figures who charted the way for Trump’s election denialism well before Trump got to it, has lost his reelection bid.
Democrat Chris Mann will be new Kansas attorney general, AP
calls.
Anthony Ippolito’s eerily accurate portrayal of Sylvester Stallone fuels I PLAY ROCKY, a stand-up-and-cheer recreation of the making of a seminal movie. My review at @moviefone: moviefone.com/news/movie-rev…
So much for learning anything from the midterms. The orange shitbag doubles down and elevates Discount Goebbels, one of the most vile creatures to ever walk the face of the Earth, to the second most powerful position in the White House. nytimes.com/live/2026/11/06/…
Dear @WhiteHouse: trump’s name will never be on the Kennedy Center or the Reflecting Pool.
The trump arch will not be built.
And in two years, Congress and the next Administration will erase trump’s name and stench from everything he has touched.

The big green guy is back, and so is director/writer Takashi Yamazaki and most of his GODZILLA MINUS ONE cast, in a smashing sequel that ups the scale and doubles the monster action. My review of GODZILLA MINUS ZERO at @moviefone: moviefone.com/news/movie-rev… #GodzillaMinusZero
Hey @elonmusk how does it feel to light all your filthy money on fire?

The media writ large is just incapable of giving a Democrat credit for running a good race, being a good person, or providing policy proposals voters might like. Just constant negging and dismissal of wins as largely due to the shittiness of the other side.
.@PeterHamby on OH Governor race.
"Amy Acton is not the most charismatic, compelling candidate...it's hard to imagine her winning against anybody other than Vivek Ramaswamy, who is an unlikable billionaire nerd who went to Harvard. No one who works for him has ever said a nice thing about him. And he couldn't tell you the difference between Joe Burrow and Pete Rose despite being from Cincinnati. This guy offends everybody!"
Buckle up, folks. And please remember to vote if you haven't already. Vote blue all the way. Let's take the first step toward ENDING this lunacy and chaos once and for all. We might not get another chance. talkingpointsmemo.com/mornin…

Good on El-Sayed for not feeding into Stevens' narcissism. This race should be about whether families can afford their daily lives.
El-Sayed: None of this matters. You know what matters? There are families who are preparing to send their kids to schools tomorrow that look like they did 50 years ago. They're worried about what they're going to feed their kids for lunch. They're worried that if one of their kids gets sick, they're not going to be able to pay the bills. Those are the things that matter.
Perfect summation of the Alaska situation. Dirty tricks? Maybe. That's politics. Crime? Not even remotely. Anything about "not certifying" the election or pursuing criminal charges is fascist -- which means Trumpian -- bullshit. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog… via @TPM

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course.
He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later.
By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart.
He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother.
Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother.
An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform.
He never stopped and left school at 15.
By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that.
In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard.
Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth.
You’ve probably heard that part.
Here’s the part you haven’t:
He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence.
But he never stopped trying to understand his father.
He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock.
He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours.
He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him.
So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans.
In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence.
He asked, “My dear, are you okay?”
Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.”
At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him.
2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait.
He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.”
After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows.
He played every character himself and donated every cent.
In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers.
In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring.
She was his first dog in more than 50 years.
He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family.
Then he kept fostering more.
When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives.
So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time.
Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

Patrick Stewart on Trump (2017): “You might say to me, well, you’re not an American, what has it got to do with you? The fact is when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. America I think is on the edge of a very bad flu infection and it’s because of the man who’s in the White House”
Left speechless by this. He had a lifetime of work to his name, but Captain Picard and Professor X are his most beloved roles. A model of class, elegance, and the highest level of acting craft. Sleep well, dear Captain. hollywoodreporter.com/movies…
Hey @SenTomCotton, anything to say about this, fuckhead? "When Ms. Peltola ran for re-election to the House two years ago, the state Republican Party backed an effort to help a Democrat — an inmate who ran his campaign from a New York prison — stay on the ballot."
