Gatekeeping is sometimes a good thing and BFI London Film Festival has become too accessible and ‘popular’ to the masses, so that’s why things like this happen. Years back it felt a bit more exclusive and that the people attending were very passionate film critics and fans, who would respect the etiquette of cinema. Nowadays there’s too many newbies and imposters. It’s ruined the vibe of the festival as a whole.
What baffled me the most was those few rude people walking out as soon as they revealed the LFF Surprise film (what happens every single edition by the way). Like why do you even bother buying a ticket for a surprise screen if you are not willing to be surprised unless the film is the one you wanted?
Like, you’re already there, you have already paid for it, you already reserved that time slot to watch a movie! Why not to give the movie a chance? What’s the mindset here? It’s just to play cool and make a scene? You already spent £31 in a non-refundable ticket a month in advance, mate. What are you even doing with your time and finances?
I really don’t understand…
Looking forward to going back to the BFI next week and all the people that flood the place for 11 days a year who know nothing about cinema pre the 2000s have fucked off. #lff
Man City are cheating by not buying shit players like Liverpool and Man United. #LIVMAN #PremierLeague
Man City’s points deduction will probably hand the #premierleague trophy to the worst Liverpool team since the 1950s. #arsenallookshit #artetaout
If England stopped shitting themselves in big tournament matches they’d win the lot. #ENGSPA

Good to see Harry and Meghan achieve 6 full tax years of non-UK residency to manage the “temporary non-resident” rules for capital gains tax 😬
They have clearly had some good tax advice and the timing of their move back to the UK is immaculate 👌

We are getting our 7th PM in 10 years.
It’s 30C outside.
And we are playing well in a World Cup.
We have become Italy…
Shocking that Starmer was in charge for so much less time than May and Boris two absolutely abysmal leaders and human beings.
Surely he should’ve learnt Catalan. Maybe he was hedging his bets in case Real Madrid came in for him instead.
Chelsea away should be an easy 3 points for Tottenham can’t see them going down now. This #Chelsea team look pure shit. West Ham look doomed. #CHENOT #premierleague
Italian football might be shit but it’s still better than that Bundesliga shite. #ATABVB
