What a dream to have Kate (who I believe selfcared herself away from Twitter) & @doree of @Forever35pod join me on the Dear Prudence podcast. They’re just great. Listen: slate.com/podcasts/dear-prud…

I got to be a guest on Forever 35! I really, really feel like Kate and @doree are my actual friends because I've listened to and loved them for so long so I'm pretty sure I got comfy and overshared. Oh well, enjoy: forever35podcast.com/episode…

Also good luck casually finding parking in Venice and not circling for 45 minutes cursing and trying to find a spot

Let’s not even talk about the drive thru line at the LAX in-n-out on a summer Friday afternoon
Per the NYT you can land at LAX on a Friday at 3pm, get your rental car, get In-N-Out, drive to Venice Beach, rent a bike, do a 14 mile RT bike ride, and go for a swim in the ocean, all in TWO HOURS???? Just renting a car at LAX can take two hours

I remember once I flew into LAX at night, took me forever to get to MY OWN CAR, had my 3 kids in the back and all of the 405 on-ramps were closed because of night construction. I was in an area of La Cienega w no reception and couldn’t pull up the GPS. Got home like 3 hrs later.

Ok but AFTER your death march bike ride and “dip in the chilly Pacific” you are then supposed to spend a full 2 hours “browsing” in a bespoke pottery store…

It took more than an hour just to get from my terminal to the rideshare parking lot a couple days ago 🥲

There are no "economic headwinds" there are no "evolutions in the media industry" causing these layoffs. The blame is fully and always with these rich dudes in charge, making bad business decisions, and never facing any fucking consequences for them.

Dianne Feinstein, 89, is MIA and has missed 60 of the 82 votes the Senate has taken this year, and her absence is holding up the confirmation of Biden's judicial picks at a really critical time. She needs to resign right now, not retire after the term. jezebel.com/dianne-feinstein…

The National Labor Relations Board just said that the new ruling banning overly broad non-disparagement clauses for layoffs is retroactive. If you're a laid of tech worker who previously signed one of these and are now free to talk shit, my DMs are open :) vice.com/en/article/n7ewy7/n…

I had a wealthy BF offer to let me live with him rent-free so I could get past the stress of a low salary in an unstable industry (journalism). I said hell no; we broke up a few months later. Years later another GF took him up on a similar offer. It didn’t end well for her.

I think it's telling that you're women, who know the emotional burden of taking financial help from a man, and the NYT writer is (I think) a man.
