Inspired by #wildfires expert @DrLoriMM talking @NSWRFS today “We have to continue to invest in technology, because we don’t have enough fire fighters to face what is coming.” #NERIS #ClimateAction

My heart breaks to see more pristine environment charred, property destroyed & lives ripped apart by wildfire in #JasperAlberta. We can use technology to better manage, predict and mitigate wildfire risk & to protect first responders and communities. Governments must move faster.
16 years on from apology to stolen generations @MichaelMcLeodMS still brings all Australians together to remember, reflect, hopefully heal and definitely keep #reconciliation vision alive. Thank you @LindaBurneyMP @AlboMP & all speakers for passion and inspiration. #canberra

A few times a year, we get our teams together in Sydney, Melbourne and Toronto offices for our Kablamo Summit. Such a special crew.

Not sure if this is the latest justification/excuse for cutting heads, or a real trend. Good Product Managers are indispensable so this trend probably comes back to same old story of hiring too much lazy management overhead! afr.com/technology/the-death… – at Melbourne, Victoria
When people join large tech companies, either listed or fueled by VC-cash, they've got to expect performance management at scale. Companies don't hit billions in valuation with la di da attitudes. afr.com/technology/atlassian…
More devastating reminders that we need greater technology adoption in how the world manages wildfires #CanadaFires

Proud to see our amazing & brave Aussie firefighters heading to Canada. And inspired to accelerate our #firestory journey, creating bushfire intelligence software to enhance operational decisions with data & AI. #firestory #alberta – at Toronto, Ontario
In recent @kablamoAU survey, 40% of our team preferred to work fully remote, 52% in Kablamo/client office 1-2 days per week & 8% preferred 3+ days in an office p/w. Interesting results in light of many companies forcing their staff back into the office. #culture – at Sydney, New South Wales
12 months ago people told us to take on cheap investment money, and hire more people to grow faster. We said “no” we’re not into empire building and compromising our values. With all the tech layoffs now, we’re hiring amazing talent, who want a real company with real values. – at Sydney, New South Wales
Excited to see global attention for solving bushfire crisis gather momentum. @xprize get ready for some cutting edge #firetech from down under!! #FireStory axios.com/2023/04/21/xprize-…
My mate and I just ordered two Ubers which had exactly the same first 3 letters on their number plates. I make that 1/13824 chance? Maybe I should head to the casino - it’s my lucky night! – at Sydney, New South Wales
If you're running a small company, don't "follow the leader" when it comes to layoffs. I wrote this article to explain why: smartcompany.com.au/opinion/…
Meta is defying 101 Management Rule of layoffs “cut once, and cut deep so you don’t have to do it again.” Second round of layoffs within months will greatly test company values and staff resolve. Not pretty. theguardian.com/technology/2… – at Sydney, New South Wales
