this is so accurate for both edward x elinor and marianne x colonel, but while elinor recognized that porch light that would become her heart's home right away, marianne was initially blind to it, but grew to recognize the right light would warm her without scorching her
the right person feels more like a porch light than fireworks

it’s been eye opening to see how many fic writers are petite bourgeois about a hobby from which they make no money
i keep seeing people referring to fic drives as work being shared without “reward” for the author and i have to be honest, it bothers me that people are posting on ao3 with their main motivation being recognition and reward. wanting comments and engagement is natural, but i think framing it as reward or a return for your work is kind of indicative that you don’t really understand why fanfiction exists to begin with. fanfiction exists as a way for authors to express themselves, explore characters and identities and try things out. it’s a creative outlet and you should be writing because you want to do it. not because you want the attention it brings. we lose the culture and motivation behind fandom practices when we commodify them.

I find it really funny when fanfic authors talk about not consenting/feeling uncomfortable about ppl downloading their fics and then you look at what they write and it's rpf porn

everytime you criticise abrahamic religions you will see people from dharmic religions giggling a little too loud as if hinduism, bhudism and jainism doesn’t have it’s own skeletons in their closet like you are no different…

oh god😭😭 I NEED the beach scene !!
thinking about edward telling elinor what would make him happy is a family he can be proud of and in the end he gets it with the dashwoods, and also, the deleted scene with him and elinor happily married together with marianne and the colonel on their wedding day... THAT'S FAMILY
