SGI - DIII Iowa College Previews - As we continue our previews we wanted to share some fun Iowa Centric Analysis of all 10 Iowa Colleges and Universities' Fall roster analysis of former IA HS players on 2025 rosters. We will be following these 432 Former IA HS players as close as we can this fall at their DIII teams. We will be adding all the NAIA, D2, and Drake FCS Iowa HS roster analysis as well. If you have been reading our team reviews you will see everyone has a roster of all IA HS players on each team. Wartburg has the highest number of Iowa High Players on their DIII roster at 141. (75% of their total varsity and JV roster played at Iowa HS) Central is next with 71% of IA HS players on the roster. Simpson has 62%, Buena Vista has 50%, and COE has 43%. When you add in all 10 teams 42% of the total DIII rosters are former IA HS Football players. 432 in total. It will be interesting to see which HS program has the most former football players at the next level, D3, NAIA, D2, FCS, and FBS. In D3 the leader is Waverly-Shell Rock with 12 players (all staying in Waverly to play for the hometown Wartburg Knights). Bettendorf is very close behind, along with a number of Des Moines Area Schools (like 2A Van Meter). It is going to be fun to see who comes out on top for most football players playing at the next level in the state this year. We will be sharing a state champ by class on our website in two weeks. *A couple of notes as we move through our analysis the University of Dubuque has not published their final roster for 25 (so we used 2024 analysis as a proxy, we will update the revised count when they publish that 25 roster). The border schools in all our analysis (Loras and UD in Dubuque, Luther, etc. will naturally have more kids from the area, like right across the Mississippi in WI or IL). For our analysis we are doing it is focused on Iowa HS's inside the Iowa State Borders. @blenny10 @JohnGunderson7
