Traffic enforcement in Pune has sparked fresh outrage after a luxury car was spotted blatantly driving on the wrong side of the road in the Golibar Maidan area. Commuters alleged that a traffic warden present at the scene did nothing to stop the errant driver, while citizens following the rules were halted for regular traffic management. The incident has raised serious questions about dual standards in policing, with angry residents accusing the traffic department of giving preferential treatment to luxury vehicle owners and compromising on road safety.

Q2 FY27: Building strong momentum across the business.
We reported revenues of $1,693 million, reflecting 6.8% year-on-year growth on a reported basis and 7.2% in constant currency. Our operating margin was 14.8%. Communications grew 9.5% year-on-year, followed by Retail, Travel and Logistics at 9.2%, Manufacturing at 7.0%, Hi-Tech at 6.7%, Healthcare at 6.2%, and BFSI at 4.6%. All verticals delivered growth this quarter.
We secured total deal wins of $1,023 million, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of over $1 billion in deal closures, with growth across key verticals and geographies.
Under TechM Helix, many of our AI engagements are moving beyond pilots towards larger-scale implementations, supported by partnerships with ServiceNow, Cisco, and SpaceXAI. Beyond our business momentum, the quarter also saw a successful Global Chess League Season 4 in Bengaluru, bringing together the worlds of chess, technology, and AI.
This month marks a significant milestone in @tech_mahindra's journey — our 40th anniversary. Maharashtra | The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) took action against bananas artificially ripened with ethephon at the APMC Turbhe Fruit Market, seizing 1,394 kg of bananas worth approximately Rs 67,814.
Pune Division took swift action against milk adulteration, registering two cases at Malshiras. Milk adulterated with detergent was found, and a total of 16,730 litres of milk, worth approximately Rs 6.69 lakh, was destroyed.
The FDA took swift action against prohibited food items in Mumbai and Konkan Divisions. Prohibited food stock worth Rs 94.45 lakh and vehicles worth Rs 35 lakh were seized, a total of Rs 1.29 crore in goods. 3 FIRs were registered and 5 persons arrested.
The FDA took swift action against hotels, restaurants, caterers and bakeries in Mumbai Division. Action was taken against 11 establishments for lapses in food safety, hygiene, storage and documentation. Licences of 8 establishments were suspended, and registration certificates of 3 establishments were suspended.

This was part of the nationwide agitation launched by Lokmanya Tilak.

Also needed is planning for emergency vehicles and private vehicles in emergency situations for almost two lakh residents of central #Pune who are directly affected. Yes many of them reside directly on the Visarjan procession route ! Fencing roads with immovable barracades is highly dangerous and needs a rethink.

Pune was for long the de facto capital of the Marathas from the day Chhatrapati Shivaji arrived here in 1642. Later the capital moved to Rajgad and then fort Raigad.
Pune itself was occupied by the Mughals in 1660 and won back in Balaji Vishwanath’s time in 1717. By then, Chhatrapati Shahu had established Satara as his capital…
After 1750, once again the focus moved to Pune. It was occupied by the British in November 1817…
and it gave birth to one of the largest number of social reformers as well as revolutionaries.
Today it is a major industrial and IT hub, a centre for Education..
Yet, it plumbs new depths in public discipline and disorderly conduct on roads…

#बैलपोळा Bail Pola, the day to humbly recognise debt of human race to the bullocks. Though the festival was celebrated with gusto in the agarian settings, till some decades ago was not foreign to cities. Children at home decorated toy bullocks mounted on wheels. This handsome wooden bullock, mounted on wheels then, was specially ordered for me by my great-grandmother for Pola ! Continues to be preserved and treasured by me over the years.
