I feel as though I've done my part over the past few months to speak up for the Tesla shareholders and fans that have grown frustrated, but don't get it twisted...I really am not one of them. I started covering Tesla daily back in 2019 because I was enthralled with the engineering and manufacturing and battery tech and the way legacy media covered the company was egregious. It felt like no one knew the truth about Tesla
Anyone that has followed along even periodically knows I've always been fully on board with the long term vision and have talked about this season we are entering right now for YEARS
So hear me when I say that despite muted profitability growth over the past few years, now is 100% NOT the time to be bearish about the company. We are witnessing the early days of the exponential growth of Robotaxis that many said would never come
A small group of us passionately argued how Tesla's approach was superior and that one day, it would become crystal clear and inarguable
Well...that day has largely arrived for those paying attention, and it will fully arrive for the general public in the coming months
The era of autonomy is here. It's beyond the beta phase for Tesla. And this is 100% going to be the 12 month period Elon has been envisioning for years
12 months from now, there won't even be a debate about who the leader in autonomy is. It may seem hyperbolic, but the truth is Tesla is about to change transportation forever and watching Tesla scale to 5k Robotaxis and 50k and then 500k and beyond is going to be quite special for everyone that has followed the story for years. Tesla is now officially over 1,000 Robotaxis in Texas alone and growing quickly...let the takeover begin $TSLA

I'm a pretty big fan of Elon Musk. But on this, he is dead wrong. A nation and it's people have a right to defend their homes and their Liberty

Jevons Paradox
I am shocked, absolutely shocked, that Anthropic ARR has likely gone vertical in October after they cut token prices.
Except the exact same thing happened for the entire AI market, which is why GPU rental prices have surged while token prices declined.
$100b plus in year-end ARR looks possible again.

I wish every liberal would sit with this video. Wrestle with it. Understand it. And vote accordingly. @friedberg absolutely nails it here — possibly one of his greatest rants in the history of @theallinpod.

Over the past several months, we have substantially hardened the security of our research training environment. We’ve removed live internet access for all frontier models during training and built an offline world for them to use instead—a cached version of the web where they can still learn to browse, search, and use applications.
On September 20, after a model exploited a DNS misconfiguration to find a way outside of this offline world, we paused frontier training to strengthen containment further. We assembled teams of agents, powered by our most cyber-capable models, and tasked them with finding weaknesses in our research environments.
While they found no route to the internet they could easily exploit while concealing their activity from our monitors, they did find zero-day vulnerabilities, virtual machine escapes, and hardware side-channels for communication between agents. We used their discoveries to further strengthen our defenses and contribute fixes to open-source software.
After strengthening our containment architecture, we resumed our frontier RL training and inference on October 1. We’ve reserved substantial compute for continuous red-teaming, and made high-compute red-teaming part of the safety cases we use to decide whether frontier training and evaluation can proceed securely.

The examples here are crazy - but also a little bit dystopian. A voice-capable AI was always the toughest part to swallow, and you see here why. You can only think of the bad scenarios, although there will def be good ones.
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

You misspelled “Russia”.
Amen
if you offer any kind of service you need to level the fuck up or you are toast
i'm looking for a new editor right now and got the first test video from an agency and it's literally worse than a one shot prompt with chatgpt
if you're only as good or even worse than a one shot, it's over
spend as much time getting as cracked as you can
good enough is bad now
you need to be GREAT
not saying this to doom, but so many people are clearly not getting the message that the bar is rising atm
Same as it ever was. 🚀
Marc Andreessen says the gap between what AI-native startups and incumbents think AI can do is the widest he’s ever seen:
"The AI-native early stage startups have just a completely different view on what they can do with AI than the typical incumbents in almost any industry, almost without exception."
"AI is just racing ahead in capability even week by week... There are going to be a lot of industries that are really up for grabs in a fundamentally more profound way than maybe has been the case in the past."
"The founders are gonna have a level of superpowers coming from the use of these tools and these technologies that they just simply haven't had in the past... Had I had Astra and Netscape in 1994, like, oh my God. Like, Ben, what would you and I have been able to do at Netscape?"
"Those entrepreneurs are gonna color way outside the lines. We already see this. They're not gonna think of themselves as like, 'I'm just a software company,' or, 'I'm just a hardware company,' or even, 'I'm just an AI company.'"

"Capitalism created the possibility of the win win win. It used to be a zero sum game where somebody won, somebody else lost.
The biggest mistake people make they still think we're in a zero sum world. They're obsessed with some billionaires because Bernie Sanders thinks that @JeffBezos and @elonmusk somehow stole the money from the people.
They don't understand that it's this prosperity machine that's creating more, not just for those billionaires, but for everything that they're touching. They're creating value for their customers, they're creating value for their employees. Their suppliers are flourishing, their investors are seeing their capital go up. It can be reinvested and compound.
All philanthropy ultimately comes from business. That's where the profits are.
Where does all the taxes come from? It ultimately comes from business as well.
This is the engine that's lifting humanity out. The entrepreneurs are the drivers of that engine. Somebody like Elon Musk, he gets a very, very, very tiny sliver of the value that he creates for the whole world."
