If someone answers a question about vaginal estrogen with an answer about whole-body hormones, they have changed the subject.

ALT Passage from We can heal it: Second, your options. There are four kinds. 1. Low-dose vaginal estrogen, which stays local. 2. Testosterone at female doses, which is absorbed into the blood. 3. Whole-body estradiol, as a patch, a gel, or a pill. 4. Whole-body progesterone, the natural micronized kind. These are different drugs with different evidence behind them. If someone answers a question about vaginal estrogen with an answer about whole-body hormones, they have changed the subject. Say which one you are asking about, and ask again.
Men get to choose their risk on erectile dysfunction drugs, and women should get to decide on testosterone.

Talk to your doctor. If your doctor doesn't have time to listen or say, this is not my specialty, get another opinion. Find an expert.

So many women do not know that a frozen shoulder in menopause is estrogen related, and we can prevent it. I've had two, and I had no clue.
"One study in women taking testosterone after a hip fracture: those on testosterone had 50% less use of a walker or cane at six months."
If aging has started to feel like decline for you, this is worth your two minutes. Clip from my Lecture 1:

"If your risk of recurrence is 2 in 100, and I improve that even 50%, that means I treat 100 women, one woman benefits, 98 was never going to have recurrence, and one doesn't benefit no matter what you do."

When we are in a crisis, we go into fight or flight. Working more is fighting. It is a response to the crisis, a way of getting your family to safety.

No woman should be told she cannot have hormones after breast cancer.
CHOICES provides education and evidence review in oncology and hormone therapies. Not medical advice. No physician-patient relationship. Consult your own healthcare team.

Such a well deserved honor for Dr Taparra’s pioneering work in NHPI health care disparities to be recognized and him be chosen with select others for the Obama Foundation USA Leaders program. Made my day to see the notice and anticipate more breakthrough work from Dr T!
It’s an honor to finally share I was selected to join the inaugural Leaders USA program at the @ObamaFoundation
I’m working with an incredible team of values-driven changemakers from across the US and USAPI to create local & global change
Mahalo President @BarackObama!
Sincere congratulations to JCO GO editors, reviewers and contributors for this outstanding 4.5 IF achievement! Content that is relevant, reviewed and informative. Kudos team!
I’m super happy for our global oncology journals getting their first impact factor!
@JCOGO_ASCO : 4.5
@ecancer : 1.8
Cheers to everyone working on this neglected field! #globalonc
We should be requiring summaries of results in all presentation that are for patients- how many per 100 who take the therapy benefit in what ways va standard and how many per 100 have specific side effects. Reporting % improvement vs standard or placebo is not patient centric.
For the trials presented at #asco23 and other major meetings, it’s ok to think for yourself ans ask whether the trial was really well done, rather than just join the crowd. Also BTW, the reason we have “Discussion” after every talk is to ask critical questions.

Setting new trend for comfy (OnCloud) footwear for the ASCO meeting starting today! Off to learn with ‘corrected badge’ as MD+PhD2B - with dissertation moving toward completion but didn’t get done and defended before ASCO’23. Love learning! See you all soon.
Strongly encourage a vote for Dr. Monty Pal for ASCO nominating committee. He is a true mentor who values and encourages diverse voices and ideas, a visionary researcher and gifted clinician who can bring insights to ASCO to further the mission and vision.
