If this is true, then the UK would lose an industry worth £28 billion, to slightly lower the import costs of UK supermarkets, including the privately owned German ones that operate in the UK.
🤔
The UK's entire food and animal exports to the EU were only worth £12 billion in 2025. Why are we throwing good money after bad?

Election days come and go. But one thing remains the same: God is in control. No matter how you feel about the election results, we must remember that our fellow Americans are not our enemies. We share a common home and the future of our country depends on us. As the great President Abraham Lincoln once said, "We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection."
Now is not the time for division or despair. Let’s move forward with unity and a posture of hope. This is America. And our best days are still ahead of us. 🇺🇸

Look at Brent crude & WTI after the midterms.
Both are already down nearly 10%.
Obvious Trump was being intentionally sabotaged with Brent crude (City of London financial elites) and gas prices.
I'll take this trajectory over what we had and will have with Democrats. Every. Single. Day.

For all the economic voters who punished Republicans, just remember:
(1) Poverty and child poverty are at an all time low.
(2) GDP per capita is at an all time high.
(3) The murder rate is lowest recorded.
(4) Real median income is up to an all-time high of $88,000.
(5) U.S. crude output is at an all time high. Natural gas production also at an all time high.
The Dems promised free everything. We'll see which track pulls more Americans up.
But you already know.
Quick question to all those who posited that @realDonaldTrump was a dictator who would end democracy, including nearly all of my academic colleagues. Does the drubbing that the Republicans experienced last night via the democratic process suggest that you were right that he is a dictator or were you wrong to make this claim? Did he kill democracy or did he allow it to express itself?

Trump was elected to do politically difficult but necessary things. Securing the border is ugly. Fighting Iran is costly. Taking on special interests upsets donors. Backing AI scares people. Tonight, Republicans paid the costs. The benefits will be with us for many generations.

In 2000, 13 of the world’s 50 largest companies were from the EU (including the UK, then a member). Today there’s only one left: ASML.
The EU is no longer producing globally leading firms. Fixing that should be the priority of every major new EU policy, or the EU won’t generate the wealth to sustain its social model.

I failed 21 SAS selection.
One hundred and twenty men started. Four finished. I was not one of them.
I do not tell that story to be humble. I tell it because of what happened next, which nobody ever asks about.
I went home. I was 19 years old and I had failed at the one thing I had told everyone I was going to do. There is a particular silence that follows that. Friends are kind. Family are careful. And you sit in your childhood bedroom and understand that the failure is now a fact about you.
Six months later I went back and did the whole thing again.
Passed the second time.
Here is what I actually learned, and it is not what people expect. It was not about grit. It was not about wanting it more. It was that the first attempt was not wasted, it was the reconnaissance. I knew where the ground broke you. I knew what the third day felt like. I was not braver the second time, I was better informed.
Most people treat a failure as a verdict.
It is data.
The only real failure is the one you refuse to go back and look at.
