Unlike Daniel who could not wage warfare in the spiritual realm, you under the new covenant are seated in Christ in heavenly places and so can wage a good warfare, clearing the pathway for the delivery of your prophecy. Hallelujah!
God gives the answer immediately in the heavens, but these spiritual entities attempt to block the delivery of the answers. The answer has been dispatched, but has not been received yet.
But, of course we cannot ignore the reality of spiritual entities attempting to block the delivery of our answers, solutions and breakthroughs.
Sometimes the delay is your own immaturity and therefore lack of capacity to receive what He has promised. So, while you are waiting on God, God is waiting on you to grow up.
Another key thing that could be causing delay in our lives other than devils, demons or lack of understanding of timing, could be our own immaturity. Ouch!
The heir as long as he is a child differs nothing from a servant until the time appointed of the father (Galatians 4:1,2)
