Replying to @BorisJohnson
@BorisJohnson @rishisunak My grandad died 9 days before the birthday party. My grandma, his wife of over 60 years could not be with him in hospital. This is your chance to finally do something with dignity. Resign. #ThePartysOver
There was a change of Prime Minister during WW2. Do not use the horror of the war in Ukraine as your cover. Resign. #ThePartysOver

Wrapping up my 4 week fellowship @UEAArchives where I have been looking at the archive of UK government scientist Solly Zuckerman’s wartime research into the effects of bombing.
Over the coming months I'll be bringing together images, footage, and thinking collected over the month into some new work.
This looks like its going to be great. You can still register for the online stream #AIARG2022 #architectureanditsstories Im going to be talking/ showing/thinking about material economies, unnatural geologies, & making companionship with fictional and literary figures

Welcome to @dshewitt Artist & Architectural Historian from @BartlettArchUCL undertaking a UEA Visiting Archives & Collections Fellowship drawing on the WWII archives of #SollyZuckerman & his studies into the effects of blast & neurosis amongst the population exposed to bombing.
Pleased to be spending a month as a Research Fellow @ueaarchives to look at the archive of the scientist Solly Zuckerman who coined the phrase ‘the natural history of destruction’ which was later adopted by W.G Sebald, his colleague at the university.

It will be incomprehensible to future historians (if we still have a form of civilisation which can support that study) that on the day the world was told the Thwaites glacier is within a few years of collapse, there were virtually no papers that ran with it on their front page.
Waiting for the drop. #Supreme box logo tee with “keep the red flag flying”
Reading and thinking about the development of ecology as a discipline in the early 20th century and its strategic role in empire. Found this ‘Imperial Tobacco Co.’ cigarette card lodged in a 1949 book on Britain’s ecosystems.

Having been subjected to exactly this kind of reactionary, colonialist, pseudo-bureaucratic, violent censorship myself, I know that it is both intellectually bankrupt and incredibly, personally traumatic. Full solidarity with Gabriella Hirst, fuck the council (and the Empire).

Today marks #RemembranceDay2020 everyday we work towards a peaceful world, one without violence and war. Today I remember Yemen and all victims of war. What world do you want your children to live in? Challenge the oppressors and suppliers of arms and put a stop to all wars.
