Once again Labor is treating taxpayers’ money as its own and spending it to serve its own political ends.
They have splashed MORE money on news organisations in another round of grant funding. This time under the “News Innovation Fund”.
We saw it with multicultural grants and invitation-only sports and community grants.
Now it is subsidising the newsrooms meant to hold it to account, under rules that shut out media outlets the government thinks will criticise it.
Like this government’s whole approach to grants, it stinks.

House Democrats Discuss New Crypto Market Structure Bill With Expanded SEC Oversight
According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, House Democrats are discussing plans to introduce a broader crypto market structure bill in the next Congress, building on Rep. Maxine Waters’ 2025 Crypto Investor and Consumer Bill of Rights amendment to the CLARITY Act. Citing three industry sources, Terrett reported that the proposal would incorporate previously rejected House Democratic provisions and measures agreed upon by Senate Democrats and Republicans before the September cloture vote. Proposals under discussion include expanding the SEC’s oversight of crypto markets, limiting the CFTC’s role, and potentially adding ethics restrictions on crypto activities by President Trump and other federal officials. Republicans have described the proposal as a “messaging bill.”

The tribunal admitted he is a “moderate risk” to reoffend, but ruled his “ties to Australia” and “fear of the Taliban” trump the safety of Australian citizens.
Tony Burke claims “community safety comes first” but this is a total betrayal.
Labor’s character framework has turned our immigration system into an absolute joke, and everyday Australians are paying the price for their utter weakness.
