Update: This deal has finally closed. TotalEnergies has completed the sale of its 10% Renaissance JV (ex-Shell) oil interest to Vaaris for $800m, 27 months after the first (Chappal) deal was announced. It keeps full economic interest in the gas licenses (OML 23, 28, 77), which feed about 50% of NLNG supply.
After TotalEnergies signed to sell its 10% in Nigeria’s Renaissance JV (ex-SPDC) in July 2024, the Chappal Energies deal died. A new SPA with Vaaris was signed in Jan 2026. As of 30 June 2026 the assets were still “held for sale” ($1.47 bn). Two years later, still not closed.

These kinds of arguments are why people in government sometimes avoid engaging. Policy makers who create policy out of benevolence go the extra mile to consider all perspectives. This is such a narrow-minded take on NELFUND.
This is how stupid our people are. And it’s most of the population I am selling rice for N1,000. Rice is essential for everyone to eat. Everyone is buying the rice. Suddenly a new producer comes and says rice is now N10,000. You complain and groan. He now goes “Ok I will give you loan so that you can afford the N10,000 rice”. You now jubilate and say “This man is trying. He cooked with that loan for me to be able to afford rice” This is the tale of NELFUND.

We want education cheap or even better, free We want lecturers to get paid fat salaries We want to pay little to no tax We want the government to stop borrowing We can achieve all these simultaneously because we have oil. Abi nor be so. Una never ready
There would be no fucking need for NELFUND if tuition to tertiary institutions were cheap

What’s the alternative that the aspiring government you are supporting is proposing when they assume office? What are their plans to remediate the damage done by NELFUND?
This bro is owing NELFUND 530k for 2 years education (4L and 5L). My entire education at Unilag didn’t cost up to half of that. He’s unaware the dangers the government he’s supporting has caused

President Tinubu has done it again. Last month, I applied for the ATPP program. Yesterday, I received a mail congratulating me on my admission into the program and informing me that the program tuition will be fully covered by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Thank you President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Renewed Hope is here and it is real. @woye @seyilaw1 @DOlusegun

I once got arrested because of a post I made on this app. I thought I was smart, but these people were actually smarter than me 😭 They didn’t even track me. It all started with a dm.Someone DM’d me and asked me to send my rate card for promotion. I sent it, and the next day, they reached out again with an invoice, didn’t even argue about the price. Instead, they told me it was going to be a long-term partnership, not the normal per-post or monthly gig. I was so happy because that was a lot of money. They asked me to drop my account details, which I did. When it was time to pay, they told me the company would make the payment directly and that I should wait. Two days later, they reached out again and said

And you don’t think you’re the one being deceived
I am not worried about the crowd that turned up for Tinubu today in Kaduna. I spoke with some core APC people today in my LGA, including an SA. "Most of us are still here because of what we will eat, we dont really support Tinubu like that". APC dey spend money, let them stop spending money let's see the edit. Lol.

He is putting himself under so much pressure for the sake of vanity. Those close to him better be careful
Manny Money broke down in tears during his live video, saying he’s ready to do whatever it takes to make money. He even asked Nigerians to help him find a job as a gateman, cleaner, or house security. 💔😭 He revealed that he did an “oshole” worth $60K a few weeks ago and recently did another one, which he’s currently bathing, but neither has worked out for him. Omoh, this is heartbreaking 💔😭 I genuinely hope he finds the help he needs and gets back on his feet soon. 🙏🥹

And that nails the coffin on the glimmer of a sentimental chance of him gathering “local” votes for his presidential ambitions. This response is a masterclass in timing and tact.
“You were the Governor of Cross Rivers when Bakasi was seceded to Cameroon, you couldn’t do nothing because you were not a local champion... If you claim you don't know me, I don't likewise know you…”

LAGOS BLUE LINE EXPANSION: THREE NEW STATIONS TO OPEN BY FEBRUARY 2027 Lagos is set to expand its urban rail network, with three additional stations on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line scheduled to open to commuters by the end of February 2027, the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, has announced. The new stations — FESTAC, Alakija and Trade Fair — will extend the reach of the Blue Line and increase the number of operational stations from five to eight, marking another significant milestone in Lagos State’s drive to deliver an integrated, efficient and world-class public transportation system. Engr. Akinajo made the announcement in Lagos while speaking at the 2026 Media Parley organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation. She said the planned opening of the three stations in the first quarter of 2027 would bring rail services closer to more residents, particularly commuters along the FESTAC–Alakija–Trade Fair corridor. The expansion is expected to strengthen connectivity, improve access to mass transit and provide more residents with an alternative to road transportation, as Lagos continues to invest in modern transport infrastructure to meet the mobility needs of its growing population. The Blue Line currently operates five stations: Marina, National Theatre, Iganmu, Alaba and Mile 2. The addition of FESTAC, Alakija and Trade Fair will increase the operational network to eight stations, further advancing the development of the state's urban rail system. Beyond the rail expansion, the LAMATA Managing Director disclosed that four Quality Bus Corridors (QBCs) are nearing completion, while construction work on the Marina and Mile 2 Interchange Hubs has recorded considerable progress. The developments form part of Lagos State’s broader strategy to improve public transportation through an integrated network of rail, bus and interchange facilities, making journeys more seamless and improving connections between different transport modes. The planned opening of the three Blue Line stations, alongside progress on the Quality Bus Corridors and Interchange Hubs, underscores the state government's commitment to expanding transport infrastructure, improving commuter experience and building a more efficient and sustainable urban mobility system. With the new stations scheduled to come on stream in early 2027, the Blue Line expansion represents a major step towards bringing modern rail transportation within the reach of more Lagos residents.
