I commented on the problematic 65 game rule in my season recap video in June. The rule was created to hurt Joel Embiid. But now that it’s hurting other players, NBA fans don’t like it so much anymore!
How Joel Embiid dominated the New York Knicks defensively last night #throwtheballup
Paul George was the heartbeat of the Sixers 3-1 comeback against the Celtics in the first round of the Playoffs. From late March onwards of last season, he was an elite two way star. Now with his first fully healthy offseason in 3 years under his belt, I have no doubt he’ll have a great year and be a key piece for Boston this season
The most shocking thing about this whole ordeal was how the Brooklyn Nets approved Ben’s physical on the same day he severely reaggravated his back. Complete front office malpractice. They were that desperate to trade James Harden. So much so that they were willing to accept a player who needed back surgery in return. So foolish by Sean Marks
Ben Simmons on a back issue he had after being traded to the Nets:
"I remember running upstairs and my whole back just dropping out and I went up and was laying in my bed, but I couldn't move. And I was probably in the worst pain I had been in a long time. And I just couldn't believe it. You get traded and then you with Kev, Kai, those guys of a high caliber and then they're looking like shit we just made a trade. They're like, damn, what's wrong with him?"
Tragic. Just an unfortunate sad ending to a career that had so much potential
Ben Simmons often uses Doc Rivers throwing him under the bus as a "valid" excuse for him wanting out of Philly. But the reality was that nothing excused Ben's behavior. If Simmons had been the bigger man, showed up the following season and played well as a Sixer again, he would've earned 95% of goodwill back from Philly fans. Him sitting out only exasperated the issue times ten.
He quit on his teammates because his of his coach's words, after single-handedly losing them a playoff series as the #1 seed a few months prior. And that's what ultimately made him detested in Philly. Fans can eventually excuse bad play, but they can't ever excuse quitting. Ben Simmons quit. And to this day, he refuses to take accountability for any of his actions.
