Robert and I are thrilled that our gift of over 2 million shares of SpaceX stock will be distributed to children’s Trump accounts in December!
Our initial gift (shares transferring to escrow as we speak) will go to 11 to 17-year-olds who live in zip codes with median family income (MFI) of $57,000 or less, and to those who live in zip codes with too few residents for an MFI to be reported in the census. These families should receive a notice by Monday.
In a few weeks, an additional gift will be finalized for eligible 11 to 17-year-old children in military families serving overseas, children in foster care, and more children whose MFI is $90,000 or less living in counties near our home in the great state of Texas.
Thank you to the incredible team @SpaceX, @Treasury, @IRS, @DellFdn, @GreaterHorizons, @InvestAmerica24, and the legal firms of Morgan Lewis and Gibson Dunn for working over the past few months to make this happen.
We are deeply grateful for the groundbreaking work that Brad Gerstner @altcap and @MichaelDell have done for the long-term financial security for millions of kids.
God Bless America!
Get tf outta here it’s Starwhale

No one is crying for billionaires. But please think for even a minute where “you have more than you need and we know a better use for it” leads. There’s a reason private property and personal liberty are main pillars of this great experiment we call the US of A.
Here’s an illustrative fill in the blank:
“[Person] is worth [net amount of private property].
He could [morally unobjectionable thing] with a portion of that. We promise it’s just this once, and we will have achieved this transactional moral victory so we can go back to all the rules and norms we had before once he pays up.”
Again - no one is crying for billionaires. But you can’t in your right mind look at these things in a vacuum.

Very clear summary of tomorrow's complex Starship test flight. Great for visualization - thanks for making it, @InfographicTony!
Lots to learn with this key 100% reusable technology for access to Earth orbit & beyond - good luck to all the employees @SpaceX!

I've heard a lot of questions about Fable's availability on subscription plans.
While it will come off subscriptions after July 7th, we aim to restore Fable as a standard part of our subscriptions as soon as capacity allows, as we mentioned in our original blog post.
The fact is the USG has made it clear they will be the ones to decide who gets access to US frontier models and on what terms.
In the absence of any clear policy, with all deliberation and decisions taking place in private, everyone is just left to guess.
Will the USG choose to slow down rollouts “by a few weeks” - and otherwise its business as usual? IMO that’s a misguided take as with a prevailing vibe of uncertainty, you can’t possibly expect the same on-field conditions as a world with certainty and dependability about the consistent and ubiquitous availability of frontier models.
The damage is done here and I don’t think there’s any going back. No business leader in their right mind will willingly build their whole operation on top of a closed stack that can be arbitrarily limited or restricted.
This is a massive win for open weight, OSS harnesses, model agnostic control planes and sovereignty overall. I fully expect a regulatory regime to come for open weight models next and the 2nd/3rd order effects of that will have wide-sweeping global consequences.

You act like the US permanently banned these models rather than slowing down the rollout by a few weeks. I feel like there have already been many freakouts and delays and BS around new models for years and there will be many more. Nothing's perfect.
Hope to see more of this.
Loved Midjourney CEO David Holz's answer on what to make of the company now:
“We’re going to be a little confusing for the next six months as we announce all the things, but I’m hoping as they all are out there, they sort’ve form a picture which I hope feels pretty cohesive. Most of them are around creativity, but some of them like this are just around positive human futures that we actually want to be a part of. And I think this is an important thing for AI companies to do—for all humans to do.”

The sheer scale of a trillion dollars can be hard to comprehend. Let me put it in perspective. You would be able to buy 42 miles of high speed rail in California with that much money.
Prediction: @AnthropicAI's next reported ARR run rate will be $70+ billion.
This was basically all from one prompt on a legacy enterprise seat-based plan (I have the highest-tier seat available on that plan). It was an ambitious prompt, but nothing out of the ordinary compared to what I've been doing with Opus/max over the past few months. I've never hit limits, even with very heavy usage, scheduled tasks/routines, and half a dozen MCP connectors called on many tasks.
Thankfully, I have an extra usage cap (you can see I dialed that all the way back to $1 after this happened), but I imagine there are a LOT of CFOs out there that are about to fall out of their chairs when they see their June token bill.
As @nlw puts it: the token subsidy era is over. The token scarcity era is here.

"Switch to a cheaper model to save money" is a problem because cheaper models are worse (maybe they are good enough for a particular purpose, but still worse).
More often a better approach is hierarchies of models, with smart models are orchestrators and auditors of cheap ones.
