Last night Trump said he could have won Vietnam in a week. His plan was “going after Ho Chi Minh City.”
Ho Chi Minh City was Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Our ally. The enemy’s capital was Hanoi. We bombed it.
He called the presidents who fought that war stupid, then explained how he’d have won it by attacking our own side.
58,220 Americans died in that war. Trump got five deferments. Now he’s telling the rest of us how easy it would have been.
He’s had more than fifty years to learn which side we were on. He still hasn’t. That alone should disqualify him from sending anybody else’s kids to war.
Instead, he’s weighing more strikes on Iran after Tuesday. His administration has reportedly considered using the “mother of all bombs,” the one he calls “like a tiny nuclear bomb.”
The man who thinks we should have bombed our ally’s capital gets to choose the targets.

If a nuclear weapon were used on Pick Axe mountain in Iran by the US or Israel or an empty field in Ukraine by Russia etc, it doesn’t matter, it would open up Pandora’s box and would make the U.S. and the world dramatically less safe. This isn’t even a question of how big of a disaster the use, in any manner, of a nuclear weapon would be. It would represent the largest foreign policy error ever by the United States if we were involved. We can only hope this claim isn’t accurate in any way.
Barrel of god-awful rotten apples.
Since Alina Habba burst into the Oval Office accusing Ric Grenell of stealing funds her husband had allocated for a donation to the Kennedy Center, here’s what we’ve learned.
— That the funds weren’t from her husband but from the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and they were sent to Texas Armament & Technology, a Houston defense company, not the Kennedy Center.
— That Habba had signed a contract worth more than $50 million — $10 million a year plus bonuses over four years — with Concord Partners, a newly formed company set up by the daughter of Venezuelan banker Julio Herrera Velutini. She signed it while serving as acting U.S. attorney in New Jersey, days after the company was registered.
Herrera had been facing a U.S. felony bribery case, struck a plea deal in August 2025, and later received a pardon from President Trump.
— That Habba’s husband, Turhan Mildon, has a history of claiming close ties to world leaders that people around those governments say he has exaggerated. He has also likely lied about his age: he has said he is 29, while his passport, U.S. visa, and classmates put him at 25. Other claims about his background and marriages are also disputed.
Habba was also on the receiving end of a harsh attack by President Trump yesterday, in which he called her deal unacceptable and said he wants the family paying her to stop.
One has to wonder if any of this would have been revealed had she not done what she did.
Talk about an unforced error.

The Republican controlled Tarrant County Commisioners Court removed 92 polling places ahead of the midterms. Predictably, this has created long wait times compared to its Democratic controlled neighbor, Dallas County. Republican controlled Collin County also has long wait times.

Why is Donald Trump trying to kneecap Ukraine right now and force them to accept a terrible deal?
Because Russia is offering business deals to Trump’s crowd, and Trump knows a corrupt peace deal will be harder to do if Democrats are in charge of Congress.

Peltola could win by 20, that's not the point. The point is Republicans want a legal pretext to stop her from taking office. Republicans in Minnesota held up Al Franken's win for almost 6 months back in 2008-9 through various court challenges.

Trump is reportedly planning to restart war with Iran after the election.
Some of us have been briefed on the war plan. And while I cannot disclose any details, I can say this: the plan is insane. It will not achieve objectives and will set off a new cycle of escalation.

Thank you for calling this out, Jen. It's apparent the goal here is to discredit a Peltola win and create a pretext that allows the Alaska SOS to deny certification or, ideally, that she loses. What happened may have been icky, but it was known for months and also NOT ILLEGAL
The Republican governor of Alaska knows what he's saying is nonsense.
Not only is ballot stacking legal (if icky), and not only do Republicans do it, but they're doing it in this cycle! In Alaska!
@Senate_Fund spent ~$500K to get a Green Party guy in Arizona to run in Alaska.
