This is exceptionally smart capital allocation.
Look beyond the token price, look beyond trade volume and liquid and examine the annualised yield relative to the cost of acquiring the position.
Now consider that the yield is distributed in $ZORA, a highly liquid asset.

I keep pointing out how destructive it is when @brian_armstrong and @jessepollak let so many @coinbase and @base-affiliated accounts openly play favorites and shill specific projects. Memecoins just make the problem obvious.
When a strong project launches on Base, it doesn’t only compete on merit. It also competes against accounts that can manufacture visibility for whatever they favor.
Independent projects get deprioritized not because they’re weaker, but because they’re fighting built-in distribution.
Favored ones face less pressure to actually earn attention. Everyone else grinds for scraps.
That support cuts both ways. Projects that live on affiliated amplification can become dependent on it instead of building real demand and their own audience. The result demoralizes independent builders while quietly weakening the projects it appears to help.
Base wins when projects on Base win on their merits. When the chain’s own people become competitors for attention and selectively amplify what they favor, they undermine the competitive environment that should drive the ecosystem forward.
You can’t credibly champion an open ecosystem while letting preferential access to your own megaphone decide who gets seen and who gets ignored. 🤜🤛
