Typical clinic day now includes a 2-year-old who only has 5 words, an 8-year-old with new-onset obesity, and a preschool-age child with no social skills from being home bound. A disastrous avalanche of child health probs of our own making—not “from the pandemic.” @AmerAcadPeds

“In this family, we can do hard things” is the energy we need to reverse all that overly Gentle Parenting that produced anxious, inept teens and young adults.

Honestly, it’s the same with obesity. Yes genetics matters but it doesn’t serve anyone to pretend they have no control over their weight. And the disease framing of obesity is being pushed big-time rn by Pharma. I can’t think why 🧐
The disease model of addiction arguably caused more harm than “chemical balance in the brain” or “born in the wrong body”. These simplistic explanations are liberating for the individual when they first hear about them but they’re damaging in the long run. Psychiatry’s arrogance causes long-term harm. Beware the simple explanation for complex human suffering.

This phenomenon is called social contagion.
NEW: At least 15,437 Washington minors had a transgender-related diagnosis on their insurance claims from 2017 to 2023. In 2022, that included 1 in 58 teen girls. A new @ManhattanInst analysis of insurance-claims data 🧵

No matter your age, it’s good to try to avoid antibiotics unless you really need them. Every day you take them messes you up a little more, in about a hundred different ways.

This about sums up my thoughts about the midterms 🫠
Shout out to all the Republicans who didn’t pay gay escorts and the Democrats who didn’t marry their brother. I know the struggle is real for yall.

Probably a fair few deaths of despair in there.
The ~1.1 million Covid deaths America had from 2020-2022 were very real, and every one of those lives mattered. But those deaths could not have accounted for even half the ~1.4 million excess deaths we had from 2020-2025. Academia has no interest whatsoever in figuring out why.

The entire premise of ‘gender transition’ is a fraud. After cross-sex hormones and surgery, the share of young Finns needing psychiatric care went from 19% to 49%! Finland tracked every young person sent to its gender clinics, for up to 25 years. Among those given cross-sex hormones or surgery, 19.2% had needed specialist psychiatric care before their first clinic visit. After their last procedure, 48.9% did. Their matched peers stayed flat. We were told cross-sex hormones and surgery would fix these young people's mental health. Finland checked. After the drugs and the surgery, far more of them needed psychiatric care, not fewer. What Finland found Finland sends every young person who wants a medical "gender reassignment" to one of two university hospital clinics, in Helsinki and Tampere. Researchers led by Dr. Sami-Matti Ruuska, an adolescent psychiatrist, and Prof. Riittakerttu Kaltiala, a professor of adolescent psychiatry at Tampere University, pulled the national health records for every one of them. That's 2,083 people under 23 who went to those clinics between 1996 and 2019. Each was matched with eight people of the same birth year and hometown, 16,643 in all. Some were followed for up to 25 years. The new numbers Critics claimed the first analysis might have counted people who hadn't had their drugs or surgery yet. So in September the authors ran it again, starting the clock only after each person's last step: cross-sex hormones, breast removal, or genital surgery. •Before their first gender-clinic visit, 19.2% had needed specialist psychiatric care. •At some point after their last procedure, 48.9% did. •Their matched peers, counted from the same dates, went from 14.4% to 13.2%. After their last procedure, these young people were about six times as likely as the general population to need specialist psychiatric care. That held for both males and females. billboardchris.com/news/2026…

Every study finding "evidence" that medical transition is beneficial is like 53 people sent a questionnaire two years after transition with a 40 percent loss to follow up rate. Meanwhile, Finland has rigorously tracked the mental health of every single patient who received gender medicalization over decades in the entire country and found that the rate at which patients required mental health treatment more than doubled after transition. The study is orders of magnitude larger and more methodologically rigorous than anything ever attempted by those claiming transition is medically necessary and lifesaving. And yet trans activists pretend that the vastly stronger study is weaker than their collection of hundreds of laughably weak, underpowered, and self-evidently tendentious studies. Any multiple of zero is zero.

During her talk at Rutgers last week, @TracyBethHoeg discussed research indicating that the expected risks of COVID-19 boosters for university-age students outweighed their benefits--even under the best-case scenario for vaccine effectiveness.
