Joan Walsh takes "smarmy" Ezra Klein and cowardly MSNBC to task for their coverage of Charlie Kirk's murder. His death was a tragedy, and we should be honest about who he was. thenation.com/article/societ…

A bill to expand pediatric cancer treatments was killed by Elon last December. He stressed it could come back up as a standalone. Nine months later is has 270 cosponsors in the House and critical support in Senate. And yet, no one expects it to pass.

Every time there is a violent (shooting) attack in this country, the unified Dem response is to try to tone down the temperature, while the entire RW immediately uses it as an excuse to dial things up to 11 and fantasize about murdering liberals.
Completely asymmetric.

Chaos in the House chamber right now. Democrats shouting about a shooting today in Colorado
Republicans shouting at them to sit down
"Pass some gun laws," one Democrat shouts

Why stop there? Let’s rename all Depts after what Trump is inflicting on America.
Dept of HHS -> Dept of Hepatitis and Human Suffering
Dept of VA -> Dept of Veteran Abandonment
Dept of Education -> Dept of Erasure of History
Dept of Commerce -> Dept of Corruption
Just a start.

"And every veteran watching should take note: if they can do this to her, they can do it to you."
Yes - if you try to assassinate part of the presidential line of succession in order to overturn election results you don't like.
Replying to @RubenGallego
a veteran.
Ruben Gallego sits here disrespecting Ashli Babbitt like she was some disposable pawn. She served this country… she wore the uniform… she swore the oath. Unlike half of the politicians running their mouths, she actually put her life on the line in defense of the Constitution.
To call for her honors to be stripped is grotesque. Veterans earn their status through service, not through the approval ratings of partisan hacks. You don’t erase someone’s military record because you hate their politics. That’s not patriotism… that’s tyranny.
Funny how Democrats worship deserters like Bowe Bergdahl, cut sweetheart deals for terrorists, and applaud when anarchists burn flags in the street… but when a female Air Force veteran dies unarmed at the hands of Capitol police, suddenly her service is “dishonorable.”
This isn’t about Ashli… it’s about control. It’s about rewriting history and punishing dissent. And every veteran watching should take note: if they can do this to her, they can do it to you.

This story is WILD. Trump sent Seal Team 6 into North Korea to plant a listening device. The operation went sideways within minutes, when a fishing boat was unexpectedly at the landing site. Seal Team 6 killed everyone on board, sunk the bodies, and fled. Congress was never told.
In 2019, on Trump’s orders, a @USNavy SEAL Team snuck into North Korea to try to plant a device to monitor Kim Jong-un’s communications.
A wild story about how the mission went wrong, leaving unarmed North Koreans dead, but no listening device in place. nytimes.com/2025/09/05/us/na…

I don't have to live in Florida to be concerned about Florida ending their vaccine mandates, because it turns out that people from Florida are actually allowed to leave there and go cough on people in other places whenever they want

Completely incredible. Lutnick and Trump brag about getting South Korea to invest billions in the U.S., then turn around and arrest South Koreans who were here temporarily in the U.S. to help Hyundai set up a factory in Georgia. The stupidity burns.
South Korea's government said its citizens' rights must not be violated in the course of Korean businesses' work in the US, noting 'many' of its nationals had been detained after an immigration raid at a Hyundai Motor facility in Georgia reut.rs/4lUAXv7

So thanks to Trump, airlines can keep screwing up your travel and leave you hanging without paying for it. This is dumb, and I’m going to introduce a bill to put these consumer protections in place.

How stupid is this?
Hyundai is building an $8 billion factory in Georgia, and ICE is imprisoning company staff who are on business trips from South Korea.
So much for investing in manufacturing!

I am adamant about people not falling prey to conspiracy theories about Trump and the Russians, but this is a classic moment where it's understandable to ask: If the Russians owned him, how would his actions be any different?
In another nod to Putin, Trump administration officials inform European diplomats that the US will no longer fund programs that train and equip militaries in eastern European countries that would be on the frontline of any conflict with Russia. ft.com/content/0157d5f9-1b27…

Spending lots of time in Europe and engaging with the govts & armies of all 49 countries, ALL of them use the titles “Minister of Defense,” “Minister for Defense,” or “Minister of National Defense.”
Netherland had the last “Minister of War” in 1948.
So there’s that.
