Nigel, this needs rather more plumbing around the facts. 😂 Government funding rules explicitly say people here without lawful status are not eligible for Adult Skills Fund support. Asylum seekers can become eligible after six months while their claim is still pending. That is not the same thing as “illegal migrants”. And young Britons do not automatically pay thousands. Eligible 19 to 23-year-olds can get their first Level 2 or Level 3 fully funded, and unemployed or lower-earning adults can qualify too. Level 2 and Level 3 plumbing qualifications are actually on the Government’s Free Courses for Jobs list. So this isn’t “illegal migrants get free plumbing while Britons pay”.
