It's one year since the siege of El Fasher ended
One year since El Fasher fell to the RSF, the international community has failed to take the necessary actions to address the desperate plight civilians face as the conflict rages. There has been little accountability for abuses in North Darfur.

It has been a year since the kidnapping of the journalist Muammar Ibrahim by the RSF militia. He was the only journalist reporting on ground during the siege. He didn’t have any political affiliation. He simply reported the truth.

Getting out of El Fasher alive was only the beginning.
More than 6 in 10 residents fled, over 107,000 of them in the first weeks of bombardment. Many walked all the way to Chad, and UNICEF says over 130,000 children reached the border starving and dehydrated.

SAF indiscriminately bombed Abyei and killed over 70 people at a market. A market that so many rely on because the war and environmental conditions have made it near impossible to sustain crops. The loss and traumatization our people continue to be subjected to is so infuriating.

Incredible. Don’t forget on 17th of October, 1961 France killed hundreds (exact number is unknown) of Algerians dressed in their best clothing protesting in the most ‘civilized’ way in Paris. Their bodies were thrown in the river. In addition, 12,000 Algerians were detained by police. This was during the Algerian war of independence.
