The groundbreaking and site handover for the construction of the new multi-storey surgical block at Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital marks another bold step in transforming healthcare for the people of Homa Bay and the wider region. This project is a clear demonstration of the meteoric rise of Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital into a regional referral hub for specialised healthcare services, and with the surgical block being constructed adjacent to the almost complete Accident and Emergency Unit, it will enable seamless connectivity and access between the two units, allowing for provision of emergency response services, trauma care and surgical services, in line with the commitment under the Genowa Manifesto to deliver accessible, affordable, quality and specialised healthcare. #GladysWangaDelivers

A BETTER CLASSROOM TODAY, A BRIGHTER GENERATION TOMORROW. From Yiembe Primary School in Kanyamwa Kosewe to Homa Bay Primary School and Kojwach Primary School, the Genowa Ondoa Kaunda Initiative is replacing dilapidated iron-sheet classrooms with modern, child-friendly learning facilities. For years, many young learners studied in structures that compromised their learning environment. Today, these investments are giving children more dignified spaces to learn, teachers a better environment to teach and communities renewed confidence in the future of their children. With 163 new ECD classrooms completed across Homa Bay's eight sub-counties by October 2024, the initiative is also creating local employment through community participation in construction. This is what educational transformation looks like: taking development to the classroom, improving the everyday experiences of learners and laying a stronger foundation for future generations. Under Governor Gladys Wanga's leadership, the focus is not just on building classrooms, but on building opportunities for every child. #GladysWangaDelivers #Genowa

EQUIPPING HOSPITALS, SAVING LIVES AND RESTORING HOPE. The procurement of essential medical equipment, hospital furniture, pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical supplies is another significant step towards improving healthcare at Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital (HBCTRH). For ordinary families, this investment has a direct meaning: faster diagnosis, timely treatment, fewer costly referrals and access to quality healthcare closer to home. We have seen the difference medical equipment can make. When the hospital acquired its CT scan machine in 2023, residents such as Kennedy Addams welcomed the development, noting that it would spare families the financial and logistical burden of transporting patients to Kisumu, Kisii and other counties for specialised scans. Consider two everyday experiences: a family seeking urgent diagnostic services and a mother requiring specialised maternity care. Both stand to benefit when hospitals have the right equipment, adequate supplies and skilled medical personnel. For such families, Governor Gladys Wanga's investment in healthcare is not merely a government policy; it is about protecting lives, reducing household medical expenses and restoring confidence in public hospitals. This is development measured not by the money spent, but by the lives improved and families given hope. #GladysWangaDelivers #Genowa

Garissa is the most peaceful town, but 10 years ago. Check it out, fact! I am in Bulla sheikh around Jamia mosque where Duale reigns both day and night. There's a boda stage, normally dominated by Kambas and Teso guys. Otis! I heard Mutuko call me. Are you Tutam or wantam..?

DEVELOPMENT MUST BE SEEN, FELT AND EXPERIENCED BY THE PEOPLE. Leadership is not merely about making promises; it is about showing up, engaging with ongoing projects and ensuring that development translates into tangible opportunities for ordinary citizens. The ongoing works captured here reflect the importance of investing in infrastructure, strengthening economic activity and unlocking the potential of our communities. Under Governor Gladys Wanga’s leadership, the focus remains on turning development priorities into practical outcomes that improve livelihoods and expand opportunities for the people of Homa Bay. The measure of leadership is not the noise it generates, but the lasting impact it leaves on the lives of the people. Homa Bay is moving forward. Maendeleo ni lazima! #Gladysdelivers

We came, we saw, we conquered! What a grand finale to the Month of Baba as we commemorated the life and enduring legacy of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga @RailaOdinga in spectacular fashion! Throngs of people walked all the way from Uhuru Park to Jacaranda Grounds, turning up in overwhelming numbers with so much love and passion for Baba. Jacaranda Grounds was painted ORANGE as Nairobi came together in a powerful show of unity, celebrating Baba's legacy while reaffirming a united front alongside H.E. President William Samoei Ruto @WilliamsRuto. Nairobi ODM was well represented in the Tutam Movement, led by our DPL, H.E. Governor Simba Arati @SimbaArati, our ODM Chairperson, H.E. Governor Gladys Wanga @gladyswanga, our very able SG, Hon. Catherine Omanyo @HonOmanyo, Nairobi ODM Chairperson, Hon. George Aladwa @h_aladwa, Hon. Jalang'o @JalangoMwenyewe, alongside many other party leaders, Members of Parliament, MCAs and numerous aspirants who continue to choose the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) as their party of choice to vie for elective positions. As we bring the Month of Baba to a close with a bang, we remain committed to honouring his memory and celebrating his enduring legacy. The month may end, but Baba's legacy lives on! Nairobi is ORANGE! Chama iko imara! #WeAreODM #MonthOfBaba #TupataneJacaranda #UsawaNiSawa

Jacaranda today was loud. Orange everywhere. End of Mwezi wa Baba, but start of 2027 bargain. ODM's demand is now clear: Deputy President must come from ODM if we back Ruto. Chair Wanga said it in Kakamega, Nassir & Arati repeated it today at Jacaranda. Message: No informal deal. We want formal 50-50 coalition before Feb 2027. This puts DP Kindiki vs ODM. UDA says Kindiki stays till 2032. ODM says numbers must count. @gladyswanga and co are negotiating from strength, not begging. #Jacaranda #MweziWaBaba #ODM

Baba’s political wisdom was exceptional. He understood that ODM’s place in the broad-based arrangement was not about abandoning our identity, but about advancing his lifelong dream of a united Kenya where every community matters. Even in his absence, his vision continues to guide us. We owe it to his legacy to protect the unity he championed, uphold the ideals he stood for, and ensure that ODM remains true to its people and its mission. Baba may be gone, but his wisdom and vision live on in us. #Mweziwababa

Any individual or parties seeking political alliances, mergers or coalitions and/or otherwise must restrict their choices to themselves. ODM knows where it is going, what it wants and how to get there. #Tukotayari
