PRESS STATEMENT
FROM THE OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL PUBLICITY SECRETARY
NIGERIA DEMOCRATIIC CONGRESS, NDC
OBI IS COMING. BRING JOY TO NIGERIANS DESPITE THE FAILURES OF APC
NDC commends Flamingos, ask them to win FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and bring joy to millions of Nigerians.
THE Nigeria Democratic Congress, ND tfC, has commended the female U-17 national football team, the Flamingos, on their qualification for the first-ever FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final by an African team.
Flamingos soared into history by drubbing Samba Queens of Brazil 3-1, in a match that the dreaded South Americans had no chance. It was the Brazilians' first loss in the competition in Morocco.
The NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, Esq, in a statement praised the young ladies for their resilience that saw them rising from a 2-1 loss to Poland in their opening game at the competition to demolishing opponents.
You did our country proud. Your victories have lifted Nigerians from the hunger, poverty, and sadness that the ruinous policies of the ruling party has imposed on them.
The journey to the final was impressive and deep. The 3-1 defeat of two-time U17 champions, DPR Korea in the group stage, was DPR Korea's first loss in eight years. Then, the Flamingos dealt with a line up of South Americans - Mexico 2-1 in the Round of 16, Venezuela 1-0 in the quarter-finals then Brazil 3-1.
As they prepare for Saturday's grand final against Japan, the NDC National Publicity Secretary advised the team to focus on the final and bring the Cup home.
The NDC and Nigerians are fully behind you.
A new Nigeria is POssible with NDC.
Signed

On 6 October, INEC announced 103,428,715 registered voters.
Our count of the preliminary register display comes to 103,512,653, which is 83,938 more than INEC announced.

We took on an ambitious task: bringing together thousands of people to review INEC’s preliminary voters' register, polling unit by polling unit. I can now confirm that our data gathering is 100% complete.
Our first finding is about polling units.
INEC’s preliminary register display lists 177,299 polling units instead of 176,846.
This means INEC has created an additional 453 polling units.

ENGAGEMENT WITH THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION: DEFENDING DEMOCRACY AND THE RIGHTS OF NIGERIANS
Following my meeting with the British High Commissioner yesterday, 5th November 2026, I met with all Ambassadors of the European Union countries in Abuja on the same day.
Our discussions centred on a number of issues, especially the cost of living and welfare of Nigerians, the state of governance in our country, and the forthcoming elections.
I reiterated my appeal to the international community to support the democratic right of Nigerians to freely and fairly choose their leaders in a peaceful environment. The international community should stand with the Nigerian people in defending this fundamental right.
The very essence of democracy is respect for the right of citizens to freely make their choices and determine who governs them.
I thank the European Union Commission for the invitation and the opïportunity for this important engagement.

ENGAGING WITH THE UNITED NATIONS: UPHOLDING DEMOCRACY AND THE PEOPLE’S MANDATE
After I met with the European Union Commission yesterday, 5th November 2026, I welcomed a United Nations delegation to the Obidient House in Abuja for a courtesy visit.
Our discussions addressed pressing concerns facing Nigeria, including the current cost-of-living crisis, the well-being of our citizens, and the credibility of the upcoming elections.
I also used the occasion to urge the international community to uphold Nigerians’ democratic right to choose their leaders peacefully in the next elections through a free, fair, and credible process that genuinely reflects the will of the people. The international community must remain steadfast in protecting this democratic principle.
I appreciate the United Nations delegation, led by Leonardo Santos Simão, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique and currently the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa, as well as his team, for their visit and the productive exchange.

Today, I visited Ile-Epo in Alimosho, Lagos State, to brief our people on the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket.
In my remarks, I urged them to remain steadfast and to serve as voters, mobilisers, agents, and defenders of the OK and NDC mandate, whether in their home states or here in Lagos.
In my company was the Lagos NDC Gubernatorial Candidate, Mr Funso Doherty, and I thank everyone sincerely for their warm support and reception. - RMK

We are thrilled to announce FUJIFILM as Presenting Partner of Enugu Photo Festival 2026 — Initiation.

Do not Undermine Democracy
I have received with shock the news of an order by the Federal High Court in Abuja nullifying the emergence of the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and all the actions he has taken. This is unsettling and surprising.
I do not challenge the ruling of the court. The court of law is constituted to determine disputes according to the law. My concern is that three months before a general election, it is in the public interest to have certainty. It is not good to have too many uncertainties about candidates and parties a few weeks before a presidential election. This instability is obviously engineered by the ruling party, just as they have done against me in the Labour Party and continue to do so to close down civic space for a robust campaign. It is also from the same rulebook that manufactures violence against us in our campaigns.
One mark of democracy is that at all times, it is voters and not courts that choose leaders. I trust in the judiciary. As a public officer, I have shown deep respect for the judiciary. I appeal that we protect the integrity of democracy by not undermining the free and fair choice of candidates.
The sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, in the midst of encroaching military rule in West Africa, should strengthen our resolve to protect opposition politics and not stamp out opposition parties. It is because of the importance of opposition to the sustenance of democracy that I have always promised that, as President, I will take a special interest in ensuring opposition parties are stable and thriving, and that opposition candidates are not persecuted out of electoral contests.
This is a time to strengthen our democracy by allowing the opposition to thrive.

This Judgment Is a Warning, Not a Win
A court has removed the David Mark-led NWC and nullified Atiku’s candidacy. Do not celebrate. What was done to one camp today can be done to any of us tomorrow.
APC is the real beneficiary. They want the opposition weakened and fighting itself so they can continue the failures of the last eleven years. No party logo protects you from that.
Demand a free, fair, and credible election by INEC. The task is to end APC rule, not to destroy one another.
APC is the problem. #VoteNDC

The mess in the voters’ register is not restricted to a few states. It’s pervasive across most of the states. Our register fails a lot of integrity tests. We are not only seeing AI-generated voters but also pictures taken off the internet in a lot of places, such as in Bayelsa.

CROSS RIVER STATE: RESTORING TOURISM, REVIVING OUR PORTS AND LISTENING TO THE PEOPLE
After my return from USA on Tuesday November 3rd evening, I held a meeting with Lagos State NDC candidates, and yesterday November 4th morning, I travelled to Calabar, Cross River State, in continuation of our series of town hall meetings and engagements across the country.
In Calabar, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and I led our Cross River State NDC candidates, party members and other supporters on a courtesy visit to His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, the Obong of Calabar.
At the palace of the respected traditional ruler, we informed him of our visit and the town hall meeting. He generously shared his words of wisdom with us and offered prayers and blessings.
At the town hall meeting, we had our usual interactive session, where participants expressed their concerns and asked questions about our plans for the Calabar Port, the restoration of Cross River State to its former status as a leading tourism destination, security, the economy and the general welfare of Nigerians when we are elected.
In my remarks, I assured them of the commitment of Senator Kwankwaso and me to uniting and securing the country and immediately embarking on aggressive investments in critical areas of development, particularly education and healthcare, while pulling our people out of poverty.
I also assured the teeming crowd of participants and supporters that, under our stewardship, the Calabar Port would become fully operational, alongside other ports across the Niger Delta.
On tourism, I recalled with nostalgia how Calabar, Obudu and other destinations in Cross River State used to be preferred tourism destinations for Nigerians and even foreigners. Today, due to poor governance and inadequate attention, the state has lost much of its tourism value. I committed to restoring Cross River State to its pride of place, starting with my personal commitment, when elected President, to spending my holidays at its tourism destinations.
I encouraged our members and supporters to be prepared to defend their votes on Election Day, especially in the face of continued hostility from the government.
My sincere gratitude goes to our teeming supporters, party members, candidates and well-wishers who attended the town hall meeting. I thank the organisers and the good people of Cross River State for the successful programme and their warm hospitality.

If INEC is genuinely interested in cleaning up the voters’ register, it should have partnered with the National Population Commission to automatically remove deceased voters once their deaths are officially registered.
Even the online display of the voters’ register, which INEC was pressured to provide, has no mechanism for citizens to submit evidence that their deceased loved ones are still on the register.

I am deeply saddened and outraged by the unfortunate incident that occurred on 2nd November 2026 at Umuokara Village, Orba, in Udenu Local Government Area, where peaceful elderly men and women were reportedly subjected to tear-gas attacks by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.
What happened in Umuokara is unacceptable, deeply disturbing and completely inconsistent with the values of a democratic society.
I find it particularly painful that people who gathered peacefully to pray for their son, my Deputy Governorship Candidate, Dr. Frank Omeje Okenwa, were allegedly treated as though they were criminals. These were fathers, mothers, grandparents and ordinary members of a community who came together in an expression of love, solidarity and goodwill.
They were not carrying weapons. They were not threatening anybody. They were simply exercising their freedom to gather and pray.
Even more disturbing are reports that the organisers had made the necessary arrangements for police coverage and paid the requested sum of ₦160,000 through POS, following the directive of the Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Abraham Abrajas. Yet, the very institution expected to provide security allegedly became the source of fear and distress.
I have been informed that several victims, including elderly citizens, suffered from the effects of the tear gas, with some requiring hospitalisation. My heart goes out to every affected person. I sincerely wish them a speedy recovery, and I want them to know that their pain is not being ignored.
Let me state clearly: I will never accept a situation where the fundamental rights of the people of Enugu State are sacrificed on the altar of political interests.
Democracy is not a privilege granted by those in power. It is a constitutional right belonging to every Nigerian. Every citizen has the freedom to support a political party, associate with a candidate, attend a political gathering or express an opinion without fear of harassment or intimidation.
Our political differences should never make us enemies. An election should never become a licence to unleash violence on innocent citizens. The police must remain an impartial institution established to protect lives and property, not an instrument for suppressing legitimate political participation.
Unfortunately, this incident comes against the background of other reported attacks and acts of intimidation against members and supporters of our party in Enugu State. Such developments are dangerous to our democracy and must not be allowed to become the political culture of our state.
I call on the Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State, to urgently investigate this incident, establish the circumstances surrounding the operation and ensure that any officer found to have acted unlawfully is held accountable.
To my brother and Deputy Governorship Candidate, Dr. Frank Omeje Okenwa, and the entire Umuokara community, I stand with you. I share in your pain and condemn in the strongest terms any attempt to intimidate you for exercising your constitutional rights.
To the people of Enugu State, I want to assure you that our commitment to the Rescue Mission remains firm. We are not in this struggle to create enemies, settle scores or divide our people. We are here because Enugu deserves better. We believe in a state where the government listens, where institutions serve the people, where the law applies equally to everyone and where no citizen is afraid to express a political opinion.
I will not be distracted by intimidation, discouraged by threats or deterred by acts of oppression. Our mission is bigger than any individual, and our determination is rooted in the collective desire of Ndi Enugu for a better future.
No amount of intimidation can permanently silence a people who have decided to reclaim their future.
