After 20+ years of writing about the Israeli tech ecosystem and 10+ years of investing in Israeli startups, I’ve finally built something for our ecosystem. When I started VC Cafe in 2005, the challenge was visibility. Today, it’s the opposite. We don’t have a visibility problem. We have a signal problem. Founders are navigating a more complex, noisy, and fast-moving market than ever, yet still relying on outdated spreadsheets, fragmented databases, and guesswork to figure out who to talk to. So I built something simple: 👉 Israel VC is now live. A curated, no-fluff, no-paywall directory of active VCs, CVCs, and micro-VCs investing in Israel. A few things that make it different: - Curated, not scraped (real, active investors) - Fast and simple to use - Open and accessible to everyone This has actually been a long time coming... I bought the domain back in 2007 (!), but only recently had the tools (and push) to finally build it properly. This is very much V1, and I’d love your help shaping it: - Missing a fund? Add it - Spot outdated info? Fix it - Have ideas? Send them my way This also connects the dots across what I’ve been building: - VC Cafe → long-form thinking - #Firgun → weekly signal - Remagine Ventures → investing - IsraelVC → infrastructure If you’re a founder, I hope this saves you serious time. If you’re an investor, make sure you’re represented properly. Explore it here: israelvc.com Feedback is much appreciated 🙏

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Funds between $100M and $500M were roughly 17% of all closes before 2021. Through Q3 2026 they are 10%, the lowest on record. Source: murphcapital.substack.com/p/…?

I'm getting more and more offers to buy secondaries for large AI companies... can't be a good sign

Venture capital has a strange relationship with conviction: everyone wants to be contrarian, preferably alongside the same five funds. Nico Wittenborn called it “the age of consensus capital”. In Q1 2026, only 5 firms captured 73% of US venture fundraising, and only 5 deals attracted 73% of investment.

Meanwhile, software businesses with revenue and growth struggle for attention, investors back competitors, and early agreements become contentious once everybody wants in. Each has an explanation. Together, they raise a question: how much of venture is still about discovering potential, and how much is about buying access to what everyone already agrees will matter?

But here’s why I’m still optimistic at pre-seed: capital is becoming more concentrated just as the ability to build is becoming more accessible. Small teams can do more with less, and there are enormous problems left to solve. At Remagine Ventures, our job is to recognise that potential before consensus arrives. What happens when your biggest investor is also your biggest supplier? Bloomberg's visual is a year old, but it captures the financial dependencies behind the AI boom: chipmakers fund their customers, cloud providers back AI labs, and those labs commit billions to infrastructure.

As an early-stage investor, I remain optimistic about what founders can build. But technological progress and investment returns are different things. Eventually, customers have to generate enough value to pay the bills. And that is the question at the heart of the question are we in an AI boom or bubble?

"Rental rates (and thereby residual values for GPUs) are supposed to decrease over time, but that’s not really what’s been happening. As intelligence gets cheaper, demand for compute is only rising, causing GPU pricing to climb upwards for the latest chips (and stay pretty for the older ones). Even the A100 is pricing at-or-above what it was at the beginning of the year." Source: a16z.com/state-of-markets-ii…
