In response to the great answers I received about this question, I made a template that can be used for your next video project to get it organized from very the beginning. It’s completely free. Get it here: editvideofaster.gumroad.com/…
Scenario: You're editing a brand new project. Your rate and all that money stuff is already set. Pre-production is just underway. You're meeting with the producer, director, and client. Nothing has been filmed. What questions are you asking? #postchat

Are you still remote editing? If so, are you facing the same challenges that I am? I wrote down some thoughts on the topic. #postchat editvideofaster.com/remote-v…

Paging edit peeps who work in Avid: how do I prevent Avid from importing an .mov with the wrong timecode? When I AMA link > transcode the TC is correct so not sure why the import function is working differently.

Expression question for all you After Effects geniuses: I'm trying to use a checkbox control to turn a range selector on/off. So:
• On = range keyframes animate text in
• Off = text is stationary on screen
Is this possible? (@chriszachary @FullHarbor @jrcanest @jdgstewart)

Editors, when you’re gainfully employed how many projects are you typically working on at a time?
Ex: A project is in review, B project being edited, C project also being edited, and D project getting setup to edit. This would be 4 projects in my unofficial poll. #postchat
19%1 project
67%2-3 projects
7%4+ prjts (pls comment #!)

Premiere Pro Tip: Hold down the option key while you scale your work area. This is really helpful if Premiere Pro gets hidden under the top menu bar. #adobe #premierepro

Today, we confirm that the root cause for a reboot issue encountered by some of our customers is unrelated to Avid and its creative tools. Google confirmed that a Chrome update may have shipped with a bug that damages the file system on macOS machines. ▶️ avid.com/92419issue

Great article by @editvideofaster about decision fatigue as an editor and just getting projects out of the door. Especially like his example of working in a restaurant (I was waiter for 7 years before becoming an editor) -

@Avid @MediaComposer 2018.12 just released! Adds the biggest list of user-requested features in recent years. (WOHOO!) Also take heed: Drops support for El Capitan; this will be the LAST version for many older CPUs. INFO: alwaysediting.com/mc-2018.12…
