We're doing a new GameNation tomorrow. I think Gamer Jeopardy (forum.defcon.org/node/240983) at Connections would be a fine idea. Discuss. But first register here: us06web.zoom.us/webinar/regi… because we are fancy. @morsanalytics

Happy that @NianaSavage talked me into doing my game for Defcon. And thankful that I got to work with @NWC_CIPI to get it done! All in all a good game and I leave with lots of thoughts about the intersection of professional games and Defcon! Next year?

Topics include China and Taiwan arguing about whether Taiwan does wargaming right (no one ever does, do they?), whether nukes are the coolest weapon system (and the hottest), the new MORS Wargaming Journal, and other things that I think need's talking.

Lots of good presentations at Connections. Particularly interested in the DTRA talk on using tac-nukes in games. We should not be afraid that the tactical nuclear transition will derail operational games - but we need to accurately account for effects!

The best professional games are enchantment and witchery, done by people for people, not by algorithms for algorithms. Hence the desire to use AI to play games misses the whole point of professional games. Similar thoughts here: libertiesjournal.com/article…

Though the need for the guys with guns (LEA/USMIL) to stand by is a bit of a stretch. The only way I could see that happening is that things are too confused to stop them, and this scenario certainly approaches that level of confusion.
