Dame Edna, completely straight-faced, tells Parkinson that looking out at the San Francisco audience she saw all these “disoriented people” clinging to each other — same-sex couples — “doing funny things.” Then the kicker: “But they’re people… and who knows, they may get well.”
The delivery is pure soft-focus housewife kindness. No raised eyebrow, no “I’m joking” signal. Just Edna being Edna while the room does that half-laugh, half-hold-breath thing.
It’s the exact moment you remember why Barry Humphries could get away with almost anything: the character is so airtight that the most vicious line still sounds like something your aunt might mutter over tea. Today that clip would be screenshotted and ratioed before the credits.
Then it just sat on BBC2 and people either roared or quietly decided they hadn’t quite heard it right.
He’s walking through a neighborhood and the people don’t run. They don’t look away. They call him “Don Pablo” with real warmth. Some smile. Some thank him. One moment even references the generosity he’s known for in these streets.
This is the other side of the myth, the carefully built public image. While the world saw a ruthless drug lord, certain communities saw a man who built houses, handed out money, and filled the space the government left empty.
The camera doesn’t need to explain the contradiction. It’s right there in the greetings, the gratitude, and the quiet respect.
Monster to some. Benefactor to others.
And in places like this, both versions of him were true at the same time.

Sabe a história desse vídeo?

Catherine Schell couldn’t survive multiple takes of Peter Sellers’ Bogart impression in Return of the Pink Panther (1975) without breaking.
Blake Edwards finally had to give up and leave them in the final cut.
“Here is lurking at you, kid.” 🤣

🚨 Pakistan Accused of Match-Fixing Against England! 🚨
Gus Atkinson trapped Shadab Khan LBW, and the umpire gave him out. Shadab himself appeared to accept the decision, while England's players began shaking hands, believing they had won the match. However, Shadab Khan had not taken a review, yet the decision was referred to the third umpire, who overturned it and declared him not out.
All the England players were furious with the decision, as they believed they had won the match. They eventually lost, and the controversial decision sparked questions about the umpiring. xitter.gq/archive_PCT/status/211…

The unwritten rule of cricket: NEVER bowl a bouncer to a fast bowler who can bowl 95mph back at you. 😭
After being struck flush on the helmet by a Fanie de Villiers bouncer, the South African slip cordon laughed.
Big Devon looked at them, made a promise, and turned the second innings into an absolute warzone. Allan Donald later called it "the most destructive piece of fast bowling I have ever seen."🤯
Devon Malcolm turned a bruised helmet into a career-defining 9 for 57 demolition. 🔥

Round one of “Hagler vs Hearns” is undoubtedly the greatest opening round in boxing history. This should be posted here once a week. I don’t care how many times I see it, it never gets old.
