The IAAF agrees that more support from the Government will empower local authorities. We want investment in the right areas to ensure our members have access to the right education and training to ensure local authorities have the right skilled workers in place to help reach net zero targets #EnergyEfficiency #Retrofitting
Aiming for a net zero building stock by 2050 means upgrading 30 million homes and businesses. Local authorities are key to achieving this transformation, they know their area best. The next Government must support this: bit.ly/43Jj8Yq #EEIG #TomorrowsHomesToday

Replying to @eeiguk
We wholeheartedly agree with the @eeiguk. It is absolutely critical that this is addressed a priority. The IAAF and The IAA led the way with our careers pathway paper, and we have anticipated the need for skills development to achieve Net Zero by developing the National Energy Efficiency Centre for industry training.

Net-zero by 2050 is an Everest-sized challenge that some fear and others hope will remain just a target 🗻 @MIMA_UK asks can UK homes continue to seep unnecessary energy? 👇 ✍️ Sarah Kostense-Winterton, Executive Director #PartnerContent #NetZeroWeek politicshome.com/members/art…

Thank you, @RishiSunak, for inviting CEN MPs and peers to Number 10 this morning 🔵🌳 We raised how important protecting the environment is for many Conservative voters and shared our views on how the government can achieve net zero and halt the decline of nature.

Great to see @BarryGardiner raise the #energysaving stamp duty incentive in today's Stamp Duty Bill debate in Parliament.🏛️ This could incentivise millions of urgently needed retrofits, by directly rewarding homebuyers for buying more efficient homes, or making upgrades. 📺👇

This couldn't be more important or urgent. The built environment is the second biggest source of emissions in the UK and there has been no sustained progress in a decade. The message from COP27 is that time is running out. We've delayed too long and now we need big change fast.
There are still huge policy gaps To reach the majority of homes, firms and the public estate, we need incentives for owner occupiers and stronger minimum standards for the privately rented and commercial sectors, support for local authorities to coordinate delivery and more.

Clearly, £6bn over 3 yrs from 2025 (£2nb p/a) is an increase on current annual spending but won't be enough. The social housing sector alone will need at least £3bn p/a in government support. And people struggling with bills need an energy efficiency boost before next winter.
