One thing I love about David's prayer in Psalm 139 is how he invites God to search his heart, not just bless his life. It's a reminder that our relationship with God should go beyond asking Him for things. We must also allow Him to correct us, expose what needs healing and lead us in the right direction. I fully understand why David prayed for God to create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him. Sometimes, the greatest battle is not with the people around us but with what is happening inside us. You can have a good heart and still need God to work on your attitude, your thoughts, your reactions and the things you struggle to control.

At this point, people really NEED to normalize bed rotting on Saturdays and Sundays. Let yourself rest without feeling guilty. Not every weekend needs to be productive. Sometimes, doing absolutely NOTHING is exactly what you need. You deserve to rest, too.
