🇲🇽Maximized today and took our opportunity to get into Q2, so happy with that. Still, I didn’t feel as comfortable as yesterday. Tomorrow we have faster cars around us, it’ll be very tricky, but we’ll try to put on a good show for these fantastic fans!

q: who won the chess game in langkawi between you, carlos, and george?
carlos: i think george and i were super tight, no? we were almost equal.
alex: i think george is really good. (...) i think he gets lessons, too. i'm just gonna put it out there.
carlos: that would be a very george thing to do.

🇲🇽 Overall it’s been a decent Friday. The changes between FP1 and FP2 were a step in the right direction as we continue to use these sessions to try experimental setups. We’ll try to make another step for tomorrow.

god it annoys me so bad when carlos says something that is, as usual, measured & reasonable and 5424676445 people come out of the woodwork to say "lol wow i'm agreeing?? with SAINZ????" if you paid ATTENTION you'd know his takes about formula 1 are typically LIKE THIS

carlos defending alex against what has been said by fernando and back of the field drivers
🎙️:is that something that fernando needs to understand when he says that alex is one of the drivers with little talent out there?
carlos: “i think it’s harsh. obviously i rate alex extremely highly and i think everyone in f1 does”
“i think the last third of the grid, if you wanna call it that way, none us of us deserve to be in the last third of the grid on f1”
“i think we all deserve to be fighting for podiums and wins because we’ve all proven that we have the talent to do so, so no one is enjoying having to battle for p19s, me the first one, but yeah”
“when you’re frustrated, when we are in occasion frustrated and specially with the approach of nothing to lose because we know our best result is gonna be p18, for sure there is misjudgments and for sure there are mistakes “
“but i would reiterate that NONE OF US deserve to be fighting for p20 and we all would like to be fighting at the top of the field”
