AI means Grab ships more code. But a shipped mobile crash stays on devices for months. Their layers: lint rules from post-mortems, crash rate per new version, flag kill switches. My take: make every post-mortem a check. Your AI won't remember. infoq.com/news/2026/11/grab-…

My party checklist saves your ticks by position, not by task. Tick "Send out invitations" for 30 guests, change it to 51, and the tick moves to "Hire an event coordinator." Switch to Wedding and you've started dress shopping. What I'm fixing: medium.com/@eibrahim/my-part…

GitHub Actions lockfiles are GA. Keep readable tags like v4; runs use the exact commits in actions.lock, transitive deps too. My take: a lock only freezes what you trusted. Review moves to the Dependabot PR. Auto-merge it and you lock in the attack. infoq.com/news/2026/11/githu…

I built a free tone checker for ChatSpark. Its own preset scores 99/100 for readability and 62/100 for friction. Easy to read can still sound sharp. The rewrite also repeats "following up." Here is what the rules catch, and miss. medium.com/@eibrahim/i-built…

Microsoft ran one agent task 5 times on Dev Proxy. All 5 scripts passed, but trajectories showed 15 problems: guessed docs URLs that 404'd, errors with no valid values, every run scraping a DLL for plugin names. My take: green evals hide product gaps. developer.microsoft.com/blog…

My dog name generator's Random button types the name it picks into search. Search matches substrings, so Iris also matches every Irish Setter: 27 cards, with Iris 8th. The page also says 351+ names. It lists 329. What went wrong and what I'm fixing: medium.com/@eibrahim/my-dog-…

Inkitt's PR agent ships code daily. Their lesson: the model was the easy part. Guardrails are plain code: two tries per stage, and a path gate that reads the real git diff, not the agent's report. My take: don't let the agent grade its own homework. infoq.com/news/2026/11/inkit…

My party food calculator plans a full sit-down dinner for a cocktail party: same protein, sides and dessert, plus double the appetizers (175 vs 88 for 25 guests). Its own FAQ plans cocktail parties as appetizers only. What I got wrong and what I'll fix: medium.com/@eibrahim/my-part…

LinkedIn's tracing write-up teaches what teams learn late: sample client and server separately and you keep partial traces that explain little. A pseudonymized member ID gives related activity the same decision. My take: sample journeys, not requests. infoq.com/news/2026/11/linke…

I compared two startups in my pitch deck generator: a parent fitness app and a port paperwork tool. Only 11 of 71 lines differed. Pick "Growth" and the notes still say "If pre-revenue..." Slide one reads "Solving Busy parents struggle." Write-up: medium.com/@eibrahim/my-pitc…

Cloudflare cut peak DNS build memory 85% by rebuilding only what changed. Safety rule: a partial build must match a full build byte for byte, or they run the full one. My take: speed up what you can prove. Uncertain cases take the slow, correct path. blog.cloudflare.com/dns-targ…

This week's demand test: ConsignClear. Consignment shops check out on Shopify or Square, then track owners, splits, expiry and payouts in a spreadsheet. Month end is hours of matching sales and texting consignors. Own a resale shop? What do you use? consignclear.hub.elitecoders…

My family timeline tool trusts every year you type. Enter 192 instead of 1920 and the chart stretches to 1,854 years: a 75-year life shrinks from 48% of the width to 4%. A death year before birth? It adds the person with a "-45 years" tooltip. Write-up: medium.com/@eibrahim/one-typ…

Google's PageBreak agent found 500+ XSS bugs in its web apps. A finding only counts once a non-AI validator reproduces it with a real payload. Unverified hunches never reach dev teams. My take: let the agent guess. Let something deterministic decide. infoq.com/news/2026/10/googl…

My MVP cost calculator labels $119,280 as the "Midpoint" of an $86,240-$169,490 range. The real middle is $127,865. The high end pads the hours and takes the top rate, so every range ends up ~2x wide. The "midpoint" is the unbuffered base. Write-up: medium.com/@eibrahim/the-mid…

LocalStack for Azure stores httpsOnly, access restrictions, and auth settings but doesn't enforce them. Any bearer token works unless RBAC enforcement is on. My take: emulators check config shape. Run your "this request should fail" tests on real Azure. infoq.com/news/2026/10/local…

Best Ted talk ever
Ten million people have watched a comedian accidentally destroy the entire TED talk industry. He filmed the talk once at TEDxNewYork in 2014 and openly admitted he had nothing to say. Speaking coaches charge $5,000 to teach the exact tricks he used in 6 minutes to say nothing at all. His name is Will Stephen. He is a comedian from Late Night with Seth Meyers who was invited to give a real TED talk and used it to prove the format is a costume anyone can wear. Every TED speaker opens with a question, tells a personal story, cites a scientist, and shows a chart. Stephen did all four in six minutes with zero content. His entire formula fits on a napkin. Gesture with both hands. Ask the audience a question anyone can answer. Tell a mildly embarrassing story so they say aww. Point to a stranger on a slide and call them important. Flash a chart of random numbers. Wear glasses with no lenses. The audience will think you are brilliant. That last trick alone has probably cost the public speaking coaching industry a hundred million dollars in sessions clients should have skipped. "If you watched me on YouTube with the sound off, you would think I was a genius." That is Will Stephen on the TED stage, three minutes into the talk he was paid to give. He wasn't lying. Executives pay $15,000 for a keynote coach and still open with a joke the room never laughs at. Founders rehearse their pitch for weeks and still sound like Stephen at minute four, saying "wagga wah, gabba gabba" with authority. The talk is free on YouTube. The method is written across every TED speaker's playbook for ten years. Stephen still writes for Seth Meyers. Almost none of the ten million viewers have stopped nodding at empty slides since. The formula is free. The willingness to actually say something before your next keynote, pitch, or townhall is the entire edge.

My nanny interview generator accepts half-year ages, but its age rules only cover whole numbers. A 3.5-year-old matches no age group and gets the same list as a blank age. It also defaults to 32 questions. Its own FAQ says 15-25. Write-up: medium.com/@eibrahim/my-nann…

Your release pipeline may not need a stored token. VS Marketplace now supports OIDC publishing with 15-minute GitHub credentials. My take: scope trust to the release workflow, verify a real publish, then remove the old PAT. developer.microsoft.com/blog…

Built a reef fish compatibility checker for My Reef Log. The matrix gives a quick scan; the pair-by-pair report explains each warning. Biggest lesson: a green result needs a clear boundary. Build notes: medium.com/@eibrahim/i-built…
